secondly, assuming that what you're saying is true, that means almost 50% of aerospace majors switch to CS, which is ridiculous. I guarantee you that is not true

aerospace is hard enough to get admitted to in the first place. There's no reason for somebody thinking to game the system to switch to CS to apply for aerospace. And legitimate aerospace to CS transfer is pretty rare just from personal experience and knowing aerospace guys
