If you did not get one you probably live in a rural area with not a lot of alumni OR you live in an area with so many more applicants than there are alumni that they just couldn’t get to you in time. You have a less chance of getting accepted EA deferred than just applying RD, yes, but they accepted like 3.9% of all the people they deferred (roughly 7K deferred applicants) so they accepted about 300 people from the 7k they deferred

So you do still have a chance and there are a few people who even I just know who were deferred EA -> accepted. One being my interviewer and the other being Nina Wang (An MIT Student who is popular on the YouTubes. She is currently a graduate student)

Yes I did! Though, it's not abnormal for intl not to get interviews. If you live in an area that doesn't have many alumni (meaning you live in a more remote/rural area) then you won't get one. Even if you live in a big city, there may not be enough alumni to suffice ALL the applicants in your area.

So, funnily enough, the ONLY thing marked as Very Important on their Common Data Set for admissions is "Character/personal qualities" The way it was explained to me by (a few different ones) alumni was that not getting an interview doesn't hurt your chances at all. But getting an interview, can potentially help you really good.
