anyone know how MIT evaluates maker portfolios? I know they have a separate committee that does it and adds their feedback to ur app for AOs to see. what exactly are they looking for, and what do they comment on?

Also do most people getting in have a bunch of olympiads? My school never offered those things or told students about them so im only learning about them now when its way too late. My stats and CS spike are solid, main thing im lacking is those sort of competitions. But im from arkansas, which is ranked #49 in the US for college admits at top schools, so maybe they will understand??

Not sure what MIT does but one of Harvard’s essay that got someone in last yr sounded rlly AI generated (to me) so I put it on random AI scanner and it gave me around 11/31 sentences and 25% AI

They still got in, so I wouldn’t worry much about it unless your work is like 100% AI and rlly sounds robotic (people normally can tell even if it’s rlly well written), lacking a personal voice

Since it's 225 words, you either sound robotic but give more information or sound less robotic but give less information

For example for what you do for fun essay, 150 words is too small
