Duke CS is one of the top 3 popular majors at Duke so theres a lot of students/support/mentorship and programs for it. I feel like for CS it just depends on what kind of CS you think you want to do. If you want to do cybersecurity, I dont know if we have as large of a department in thats compared to software. I think after a certain point though, CS is CS and as long as you get the skills in it and go to a place that has career fairs/connections, then it doesn't really matter.

Everything u need is on campus, but there’s a lot to see in Durham

Also amtrak is close so u can get a train ride to other places in nc for outings

There’s definitely some homeless in Durham but they’re harmless for the most part, so u don’t need to worry abt that

Yeah, the homeless in Durham mostly live in the woods so their aren't any large homeless encampments or anything you need to avoid

there is also a lot of working class homeless and less "dangerous" homeless

if u think u would be depressed at upenn cause of the student environment there, then you should go to duke

You might be more uniquely positioned to argue what you want to experience at Duke that UNC doesn't offer. I don't know the actual accpetance rate of UNC to Duke transfer students specifically. You also might be more challenged to argue the difference between the two because they're weirdly similar in terms of strengths/weaknesses.
