i submitted a research paper to an undergrad journal like 3 months back and then i wasn't getting any response so i sent the abstract to Nature for review. So Nature replied back in 2 days saying they weren't interested and then just above that email there's another email saying that the undergrad journal has accepted it after those 3 months of waiting. tl;dr everything happens for a reason

while i did not get nature at least it worked out and the coincidence for me was crazy

"There is not a priority deadline for RD interviews this year. They did that in years past due to way more applicants than they had alums to do interviews, even with many alums doing several each. This season, RD interviews are being assigned by admissions if they need more information. The timeline is later this year: regions began getting names only 1-2 weeks ago, and we have until the end of February which is later than it used to be. In the many yrs prior, assignments for RD started coming in December with the peak in mid-January (ie when they tried to interview everyone).
