#University of Chicago (UChicago) (2023-2024)

compared to what
I didn't even know it was need blind for canadians
I thought I had a tiny advantage but I guess not
my admissions officer responded to my LOCI, said thank you
does anyone know how much ed2 increases your chances of getting in?
def a lot like idk exact numbers but a lot more than rd

I wish they gave a specific date for when its getting released lmao
i think its still around 20% ngl
ea/ed1 combined accept rate was 5% and the ed2/rd round has like 50-60,000 applicants this year iirc
so like
good luck
Curious where you get the combined ea/ed1 at 5%
Thanks! Any insight on the ea and ed1 rate themselves?
nothing official unfortunately
I imagine ea could be like 1% and ed1 around 15%
is that more than usual
highest number of applicants ever
Around 1800/55k or 3% overall acceptance
Am curious how many actually do ed1 (maybe 5-6k) and ed2 (another 6-7k), rest EA/RD
oh shit thats cray cray
i feel like a lot more ed2d this year
@rich sapphire i went to a frat
ez
first time
ill go more tho
was fun i wont lie
yeah im probably finished
shit sounds rough
on one hand i wish I ED1'd but the other hand says that during the EA/ED1 cycle i had no idea how to write a decent enough essay
Saw on Reddit chat some users confirmed 20k applications for this 2028 cycle (ea/ed1)…
Its kinda shitty 20k (ea/ed1) + 50k (ed2/rd) 1800/70k is 2.5% overall acceptance rate for 2024 if true
Yeah we're NOT getting in 🙂
which
lambda
holy damn
is the ea -> rd acceptance rate any good
$5💀💀💀
do they charge for drinks?
nno
@fading socket it’s over
does anyone know if theres a deadline for the loci
i submitted to be considered for rd
but i shud probs do it soon 😭
i believe jan 31
actually i could be wrong, i think the letter just said to put new stuff in by jan 31
Just came out from the admitted students reception in LA. Nondorf said that 6% of EDI + EA applicants were accepted and that for overall it was 4%. He also said that there were more than 42k applications (last year it was 37k)
He also said to us that as long as there aren't some "Ds" we're good
He didn't mention EDII
damn
I don't remember anything else that could be relevant
would you recommend going to the admitted reception
it looks like uchicago this cycle is gonna be insane fest for ED2 then
I also met the admission officer that read my application so that was cool
that sounds awesome
Yeah it was pretty fun
id go if they held another one in LA and i got in
I would say 60% were Asian, 20% white, 10% black and 10% Hispanic
It's not a huge event but it's pretty cool
There were a couple of important people there
hmmmm
just curious, how likely is it for someone to be accepted in rd after deferred from ed1
The parents of some of the kids are crazy, one gave advice to the president of Mexico
In the econ department
I would say pretty high
Especially if you chose to EDII
oh i chose rd tho...
i dont think you ccan do ED1 to ED2
nah its an option but i didnt do it
oh woah
wild
LA tho
it's not representative of everyone
same
i mean it sorta worked out tho for now, congrats on USC!
thank you!
I'd still choose uchicago over usc tho
but meh
pre med
same
most of the academic weapons from my school are applying to USC because its not that far away in distance
so i passed up on hard work for a surefire rejection
Fs
It's 20k + 42k from RD/EDII
So 62K applicants
2.9% acceptance rate
was it 42k total or ed2+rd
Oh yeah you're right mb, 42K total
4.3% acceptance rate then
yeah i know usc is good for cs and business but i don't think it's great for pre med so ms
i swear nondorf said 42 ed2+rd though
some absurd ass number
@upper elm hv u seen the hw?
yues
is it hard or nah
@upper elm
it's ok
ok
i just forgor it's a ftc chapter
so i scratched my head for like 15 min until i looked at the solution for 3
and it immediately became obvious
💀
lol
according to the common data set from 2021-2022, total acceptance rate is 6.47%
https://data.uchicago.edu/common-data-set/ (hoping mods don't flag this link cuz its directly from the chicago.edu domain, this site has a link redirect to the pdf above^^)
they don't have one for this year tho 😭
The 42k was total looks reasonable compared to previous year at 38k. So to sum it up from various sources: 20k ea/ed1 with 4% acceptance rate giving 800 kids for ea/ed1
Another 22k applying ed2/rd, am guessing they will take around 1000 kids giving same number of acceptance as last year at 1800.
That’s 4.5% 1k/22k for ed2/rd. But you know it will be HEAVY skewed on the ed2 … would even say 800 kids ed2 vs 200 kids rd
How many applied as rd2? Maybe 8k at most? Using similar numbers in other REA and ED schools … so 10% chance for rd2 in the ballpark
This implies 200/14k for rd, giving us a cool 1.4% chance for rd kids … boooo
it wont be 50k ed2/rd
this looks right
Yeah it’s 22k for ed2/rd round + 20k ed1/ea total 42k this year
So at worse a 10% acceptance rate for ED2
And at best closer to 15% - 20%?
i'd take those odds as a fellow EDII-er
curious to know if we get a slight advantage seeing as we were deferred and then EDIIed?
he was not deferred
mb, but my question still stands
Yeah I think those odds might be doable if my essays hit
hoping they do for you man!
Haha nice. Political Science/Econ here
Pre law?
nice
is it easier to get in with different majors? I don't know how popular their math program is 💀
shit physics is competitive right
I mean according to google, these are the most popular area of studies:Programs
Bachelor's Programs
From US Dept of Education (IPEDS) · Learn more

Econometrics and quantitative economics 26.1%
Mathematics 7%
Biology/biological sciences 5.6%

Creative writing 1.5%
Counseling psychology 1.4%
Environmental studies 1.4%
Anthropology 1.4%
Social sciences 1.1%
Astronomy 1%
I think this gives a general idea, but obviously some faculties have more capacity than others and also some students may choose to diverge or completely change their major.
Chicago doesn’t admit by major because you don’t declare until junior year
and because people change super often
you don't even need to select your major when applying
Nondorf told us it was 6% (5.9%) acceptance rate for EA + EDI and then said that there were 42k applications in total. Checks out when compared to last year. Last year the acceptance rate was 4.8-4.7% iirc
So for this year the overall acceptance rate when rounded is 4%
22k applying EDII/RD, maybe 5 or 6k applying EDII because a lot of the EA defers changed to EDII and the HYPSM defers/rejects also went EDII.
At the reception I went to I only met 2 people who got in EA out of maybe 40 or 50.
bro jus making up stats
has anyone turned in a LOCI yet
when?
absolutely not
@terse quartz oh my god what the fuck are you doing here
Who r y
U
Some mafia person?
Unblock me
I’m banned for 3 years from that game
Look at our dms
no way it goes straight from 26% straight down to 7%
"what's ur major"
"econ"
econ majors ^
r u still weird af
dammit you beat me to it
guys u dont get it tanman was like an opp in a completely random niche community i was in 3 years ago
that is such a jumpscare
real shit
yep
😂
what was the community
a random ass app game called mafia mystery 💀
do you consider yourself a part of the pokémon fandom
not seriously
i need help deciding which game to play after emerald
i thought your pfp was a pokémon could be wrong though
@opaque mango
not this but i foudnw hat i was looking for
oh what
chiefs fan oh brother
@solid flame help me #1199143091517530253 message
NUMBAH ONE (percent) BABYYYYY
im not a premed
nah, mainly policy-making and pure political science
thats cool
i wanted to do poli sci or flight school but then i slowly transitioned towards pre med
and stuck w/ it ever since as what i prepared for
each really interesting yet diverging fields lol
makes sense
i mean the reasoning is simple once i explain:
flight school cause i travelled a lot growing up and my dad worked at an airport (ended up writing my PS about it)
political science because i just liked politics and political history growing up
and pre med because my mom is a nurse and most of my aunts and uncles are in the field of medicine as well
basically whatever i did was probably going to be one of those 3
sounds awesome
feel like i had 3 interests myself in high school
was planning on doing law/pre-law for a while
then i got really interested in linguistics of all things because i really like how language is used in society and the historical origins of them
finally ended up with political science because it sort of combines my love of history and argumentative reasoning in a more substantive way, given our world is run by governments of all kinds
That’s pretty darn well thought out
low key i might've gone into linguistics too, but the career prospects don't look too reliable. i speak english, a little hindi, and have been learning spanish for 5 years in school. its really cool to see how the languages relate to each other (ex. hindi and spanish conjugate their verbs, english doesnt, etc.), as well as seeing which words across languages share similar roots. i decided to go with my interest in math for my prospective major tho.
yep i also slowly backed out because of career opportunities
also, how'd you end up learning hindi? are you indian by any chance?
my parents didn't think so lol
yes, born there, but grew up in the usa. i only did 2nd grade in india, but spoke a weird mix of marathi, hindi, and english with my parents at home
that mix of marathi and hindi isn't too uncommon in maharashtra so you're good
ye
Likewise
My parents thought I kept switching from aspiration to aspiration
But I think I’m gonna hold firm on a path into the medical field if I can maintain good undergrad grades
me too! feel like i would go more into the econ path if im not liking the courses, find that to be unlikely but i would love to double major in econ and pol sci if i were given admission either way
if i fucked up in undergrad for pre med id prob transfer into something more research based or just go back to the drawing board
yep, i'd do that too
submitted my loci, music portfolio, research abstract, mid year report, and mailed my AO!!
I just won a civic service award
Can I tell Chicago I won? I wasn’t deferred so I don’t need to write an LOCI
But outside of that is there any way I can communicate I won it, because a good chunk of my app’s writing is centered on civic/public service
you should be able to send application updates
But how
Do I write a little PDF about how I won the award and what that means for what I’d do there?
im not really sure sorry
maybe email ur regional admissions person and be like "I'd like to update you on my..."
something along those lines, idk tho
We can do that???
yeah
thats how i sent my LOCI in
ik the thing you're doing isnt exactly a LOCI, but still
Email your AO
Emailed updates to your AO will be stored in your application file
I did that in October
Any emails / communication to your AO? Or is it strictly updates (awards, ECs) that would benefit your application?
I think it was just stuff that would benefit you
should i send my online college course transcript
like add through portal
or my AO
it was like the online stanford high school math and physics ulo course
i put it in my additional info section but idk if i should send
That's what Nondorf told us but sure buddy
Wait so if I have new classes that I signed up I email my regional AOs instead of uploading a pdf in the portal?
in the counselors reports
do they talk about like
teacher feedback
on the student
like work habits etc
mine did
which
mine did
pretty sure we have the same one right
dm if required
also any predictions on when ED II decisions will be out?
yeah ok
OK MY UCHICAGO AO RESPONDED
How do you know who your ao is and how to reach out to them?
Thank you ❤️
dw mine did now!
awesome!
was ur email super professional or like friendly
idk how i should email mine
mix of both
30th
trying to write an email to my A/O about an award i won
but idk how
the what
i wasnt deferred
ed2
all good
Sent in my loci and supplemental shit two days ago 🫡
so in my case i won a civics award
and talked in my why uchi about civic stuff
can i connect the civics award to that?
i see
and i gotta include my app # and decision round + name
ill do it in my thanks, (my name)
understood
nah its fine
it sounds fair enough
nice
(my parents have been telling me non-stop to withdraw my ed app and its getting to me)
someone remind me how awesome uchi is pls 😰
nOO
im going to be too scared to leave my dorm if i get in fr
if u say no then the robbers won’t rob
how much does a kevlar vest cost
nahh
5 sets of handing over wallet
10 sets of getting on your knees and begging for your life
nah bro
aint no way this dude is gonna get on his knees just cuz a robber approaches him w a gun
Any idea for decision date for EDII?
Might be Feb 9th
Blow to live
where did u hear that
yea this is what i was predicting as well
that or feb 12th
Being reasonable
Last year released on Friday Feb 10th
This year the Friday falls on 9th
Either 9th on Friday or 12th on a Monday like ED1
Could even be 16th if they want tho
On the portal it says that they will consider the missing documents, if it or they are submitted by January 30.
yooooo
yay thank you!
wait thats early
chi-raq is scary doe
yb profile pic you’ll be alright gang
actually, what's the system they use for reviews?
congrats!
is there a separate application for merit scholarships?
Can you explain this please?
oh sorry nah i was just making assumptions
it’s like feb 10 or something
Who else applied ed2 Uchicago
most ppl here
ooh which one? congrats!
if ur admissions counselor responded to ur loci saying thanks, did u guys respond to it?
no
When is EDII for uChicago results coming out? Is it sooner than regular decision or same?
around Feb 2nd week
Cool
How do people find these release dates?
last year it was Feb 10
Oh ok
uchicago deferred me and they're still my #1 lol
I want to do engineering so uchicago doesn’t make full sense anyway
oh yeah that's fair
💪💪💪
im not getting in 😋
i hope so
more like love less
occasionally they accept some
💪
ok but do they accept any ea defer->rd kids 😐
yes
sure but mine was so shit bro
they dont release numbers ofc, but if i had to guess, it's gonna be a bit higher than normal RD, maybe 10%? not sure!
wait why would it be higher than normal rd? isn't it lower because most ea defers do ed2?
i would guess that the applicant pool for EA, even removing those who get accepted, is still stronger than the applicant pool for RD, especially in that uchicago likes people who like them, and applying EA and then applying essentially again indicates you like them
but not applying ed2 indicates that they arent your top choice right/
or ur too poor to ed
yeah but uchicago gives great fin aid
sure, but there's plenty of other reasons
being poor to ED doesn't really mean much - ED isn't binding and if you dont get enough aid, you dont attend
*too poor
ok good cuz i didn’t respond and i was overthinking it a little bit lol
Need to email my A/O today
and that’ll conclude my interactions with Chicago besides Fin-Aid
period
@vestal zodiac pu chir-aq
u fr got in?
guys
my school doesnt have gpa
or class rank
like
will they calculate it for me? like the gpa
or is that gonna hurt me
should i just have calculated it myself
oh ok thanks
nothing to worry about
No they don’t
The consider it contextually but they don’t recalculate it
shit
so it is disadvantage
even if the grades are good?
btw dont advocate for getting around text filters
love uchicago
it can't if they don't use it lol
if so im a goner, my school doesn't use GPA or ranks either
really? can anybody react to this msg if they're EDII-ing to UChicago
Is there any way to send an optional section (circumstances kind of thing) along with the mid-year report?
you could probs email them?
Good idea
bro
basically everyone is
few exceptions
would generally like to know tho, it's a smal sample size by this thread alone
generally anything <500 is recommended
i think you can do it in your LOCI
oh well ppl didnt react
yea lol
i thought 500 was considered the minimum lol ok thanks i think i’m alright then
bro more than 500 is a bit long, it'd be over a page
85?
you’re right
yep. maybe if you alter things in the page setup but ig that's not ideal
i looooove making up random numbers (u) 🥰😝😝😝
do you have to submit other financial aid things for uchicago besides FAFSA and CSS
ok
ok
Any of you know any intl uchic admit with full ride or almost full ride (Rd application)?
would u guys take uchicago full ride or go to harvard
uchicago
good question
uchicago full ride, mainly cuz i don't think i'm making much of a compromise for my course of choice by going to uchicago over harvard in any case. so saves me the tens of thousands of dollars. plus, uchicago is lovely
lol you're EDII-ing im assuming, so not much choice in the matter tho
just noticed that they've asked this q in every college megathread
i mean i did
im already in uchicago
oops didn't know that. mb!
uhhuh shouldnt have pinged me
but ok
yeah
im doing a survey
a lot of ppl seem to just wanna take fullr ide
ok yk what
to my surprise
LOL
i did because you also answered. but good point
😂😂😂😂
ye
how much better is harvard than uchicago than any case? is it even possible to quantify that?
lol no we're not better
no no
yeah
switched it
oh
id say like
prestige wise, so much better
sorry my brain is fried rn don't mind me
lmao ofc they are
uchicago is good at certain subjects like astrophysics or econ
bro harvard is good at lioe
but outside those its not comparable
everything
how much can you trust them in the first place?
harvard is good at everything we're good at
im talking abt collective rankings across numerous ranking websites
the overall ranking impression
harvard is always t5 globally
lmao god
dont bother arguing abt this
funny thing is
uchicago's 3 best subjects r probably harvard's 3 best subjects too
lol
hm?
not astrophysics
harvard neuroscience
maybe not econ
like even though it's debateable
i realized these ivies suck ass at engineering
lmao exactly
so funny
uchicago econ may be better than harvard econ
what
ur doing a survey
let ppl decide
got me all defensive abt uchicago lol
Either one would be a full ride because of my income so probably Harvard
but I’d have to do research and really think about it
I didn’t apply to Harvard though, the only Ivy I did was Princeton REA
the question supposes uchicago full ride vs harvard 0 aid
that's the only reason it's being asked 💀
and i'd probably take uchicago full ride
because money is pretty goated
and realistically a degree from uchicago will never get shit on it's not like i'm losing out on billiob dollars of job opportunities
the real bag was the aid we received along the way
In that situation the choice is insanely easy
uchicago over harvard anyway
🫣🫣🫣🫣
honestly harvard does have prestige and being close to mit (where literally all my math friends go)
i like uchicago quite a bit
besides just going to a decent university that can equip me for the future is my goal
Isn't that only for deferred students? I'm ED2
i’m deferred yeah
i didn’t know you weren’t, my bad
i love uchicago!
guys i messed up
i was at a 99 in ap stats but i like completely procrastinated for this one test i didnt prepare for at all (i did other stuff in class that was kind of important) and woke up on the morning of that test just realizing I had a test. I got the worst grade I’ve gotten on a test and it dropped my final grade to 91 ☠️
ok so basically the worst part is
it wouldve been okay because we have a drop test
but
apparently
ap stats is a year long course (even tho technically its a semester long course) because he makes us do the last test in like march. so he won’t apply the drop test till then.
what do i do
do i drop the course
actually no but like
do i ask him to apply the drop test for this report card
midyear grades matter for uchicago ed2 right?
my report gets sent like next week
ik this was rly dumb especially considering it was an easy ass unit
and mostly just knowledge based and everyone aced it
sorry for the long message
i dont think an A- would hurt u significantly
an A- is not going to effect you at all
don't worry about it
not gonna kill you
colleges care- but they don't re-evaluate a person after seeing they got a B. most of the decisions have been made/are in the process of making them, and most colleges review holistically
a C is where it gets tricky, but a B or an A- isn't going to matter to them in the long run, they get it, seniors are tired.
also depends on rigor of class- if it's calc bc then a B definitely wont kill you. now if it's like a regular level class it might cause a bit of concern but not enough to change an offer
I sent my a/o an email
about the award I won
Took me ages to do it but I did it last night
Them not responding has no indication. Probably just overwhelmed with messages
do you guys think they'll announce the edii date in advance o_o the only edii announcement i could find from last year came on the same day as decisions
maybe the'll post it to an instagram story or something temporary..???
idk this discord is how im gonna know when its out
real
real (2)
real (4)
Fake
❌
Does ED2 drop Feb 9 or Feb 16?
is that for me
good chance it's feb 9th given it was feb 10th last year, but feb 16th could also be in the running given it's closest to being 'mid-Feb'
Thanks! This was exactly my thinking too
is it?
oh ye ima say that too
gl yall (except those who i hate, yk who u are)
thx shambable
well sorry to break it to u but idc about u enough to hate u
LOL
Thanks!
np
Good news is that the A/O responded to congratulate me on the award I told them about and that they put it into consideration
Fingers crossed!
gl yeah
would yall take out loans of 150K for uchicago
broooo
thats so good
depends on what major
mine hasnt responded (its been more than a week)
if finance i would yeah
i intend to major in cognitive science (am also interesed in econ)
not sure lol
if ur finance/cs/engineering its p stable and u can honestly be chill with the 150k
- i would work throughout college'
Bro I’m hoping the A/O takes mercy on me fr fr
only finance + cs
They’re probably busy
It’s a stressful time rn
i mean doesnt sound like a bad plan
icic
hell nah but only because my career path requires I drop that amount if not more on med school, and I come from an already low income background
yea over saturated
Your situation could be different though
my parents arent willing to pay for my college
damn
You see those charts people make about how they apply to 200 jobs and only get 1 offer
I was like damn
game is game
Like not a dime?
0 support?
hmmm
Like cause of low income or just like other reasons
Cause I understand if it’s like they don’t got the money to help you out
combined for all 4 years?
they have their own loans
but yeah imo it depends on ur career options
This
yes all 4 years
like if ur a finance bro ur CHILLING
try appealing maybe?
If the career is lucrative then you could see about it
How much do UChicago finance bros make???
lmao idk
prolly like 120K a year starting im guessting
but like the average finance bro can definitely cover that comfortably within a few years
like ROUGHLY
yeah exactly
To be honest I’m kinda banking on the under 60k = full ride thing
if i get some outside scholarships thats like 10K plus i do research and work jobs thats like 20K
But my mom got a promotion so I’m like semi fucked
soooo
are they need-blind to u?
117K
Yes
tell her to reject the promotion ☠️
did you get in
he's going ED2
She can’t she almost done with the entire degree for it
What ok said
Im applying ED2 from SoCal
you got it
yeah2
117k is chill
i would prefer not taking 6 figures in loans
yes im super hopeful that i get in other places to negotiate with UCHI
thank you & goodluck!!
ur considering finance tho right
possibly
ok ill take that as a yes
GUYS LMAO
how botu like PHD
ye
for umass
thats why im kind of panicking abt cost
cause i expected like
umass cheap in my back pocket
but i cant now LOL
Can I use CSU that costs 8k per year as a negotiation if I make it somehow?
its so fcuking expensive
like not j the school fees
every shit they charge
is overpriced
idek how negotiations work tbh
Like what’s the negotiation bar
bump ^
out of curiosity
sure
thanks plum
Awesome
like i emailed my AO weeks ago abt not being able to afford it and they gave me 10K a year
huge dub
did you tell uchicago that your parents are unwilling to support you?
Great idea
i like that name
im super gratful for it but like I need 30K a year
plum
hehe
I pray for times like this bro
hopefully it translates to an acceptance/waitlist
under two weeks
no i basically said like extenuating circumstances etc etc
apparantly they dont rank waitlist
wonder how many waitlisted end up
getting a spot
so who gets off is random?
idk exactly how fin aid processes work but just call the office and tell them that your parents are unwilling to fund your education and a loan of 100k+ would place a large financial burden on you, they might give more aid (maybe? again idk)
that's fair lmao
bro if i get in im going to buy so much chicago fire merch
itll be unbelievable
decked out in straight shaquiri chicago fire merch
did anyone get a free uchicago t shirt
is it bad that I just submitted my LOCI
for sending sat score
it's before the deadline so they'll probably read it
bc i heard they used to send them but idk if they still do
well idk if they do bc i sent mine a month ago but they haven’t sent anything
so probably not
I got a scarf
ooh that's cute
god i love this school
why did i have to write a shitty why chicago when i originally applied
love it too but I got in NU ed 😭
they even hand wrote me a holiday card :>
what did you write?!
When did you apply
Did they send it after acceptance?
Yeah pretty recently actually like last week I think
LITERALLY
Does UChicago still send the LoR writers merch?
i just remembered
like a few years ago a girl got into uchi from our school
and her teacher reference from then is also mine
and he got like
this award from uchicago
for like high school teachers
it wouldnt impact tho right
oh it was the outstanding teacher award
nvm i think a lot of teachers get that
i wear it everyday
it’s so warm
and it washes nicely too
ooh that's nice
haven't worn mine yet though
my parents are like I should go to Uchicago bcz they keep giving me stuff but nothing from NU 😭
interesting way 2 describe 🤣
my bad
weird ass link
this
this chicago fire 23-24 kit id wear it with pride if i got in
immediately purchase
any update on when early decision II results are coming out?
no they don’t update apparently
Sad
Is it still worth sending in a video btw
Supplemental material deadline is in the past, i think
I mean yeah write it
although you'd have to call the admissions office to know if they'll read it
Either one
the portal submission thing has a category for it
Specifically for a loci or for supplemental materials generally
loci specifically, there's a dropdown
Gotcha, thanks
how do I report midterms
Your portal should give you the option to submit (self) reported grades
price fixing means they agreed with other colleges to limit finaid so that students overall have to pay more for collrge
and the colleges make more profit
cause if uchicago for example offered good aid and yale offered bad aid then people would go to uchicago so yale is incentivized to improve their aid program
but if they both offer shitty aid (price fixing)
then students have to choose a school
and then more profits
in conclusion, nothing to see here!

Rolling?
What when
Probably cps rolling

😭
ouch
maybe if u went to class instead of going to Λ
guys its over. idk why i even care anymore
i didnt have a shot to begin with
its just like
what if
ok
Because there’s a chance
that’s why
was their a fin aid app for uchi
Honestly my policy for top schools is
“Expect the worst. Hope for the best.”
So yeah it is over in a way, it’s been over since the beginning with such slim acceptance chances. But you care because there’s a chance— just don’t expect anything.
On the bright side, remember that where you go to college doesn’t define your self worth
does any of yall have an idea on when ed2 is coming out?
Where are we getting this info?
What bufallostat’29 said
Last year they did Feb 10th as well
So it seems like Feb 9th is it
If they postpone it to Feb 16th I’m gonna be moderately annoyed
any estimate on what day it would be?
Bruh literally read the messages that were sent most recently
nah im good
💀
jk im pretty stupid for that my bad
skibidi toilet rotting my brain
can someone answer this
uh it's not a separate portal but on the main portal itself they asked me to submit some documents (i didn't get an email about this, i just logged into the portal one day and saw that it was missing so keep checking your portal)
oh this makes sense
So for me I submitted all of my docs in November right
Then they still want my parent w2, other docs and fafsa
Do you think they didn’t receive it?
like on idoc?
i dont think uchicgago uses idoc
Yeah
they need you to upload directly on portal
yeahhh i almost thought i missed it
because the first time i logged into the portal i just saw the css profile
and i submitted that
but then a couple of weeks later i saw the fin aid forms
And @gloomy ferry what did your usc package look like?
got no email or anything
Ohhh ok ty
this is why you maniacally check portals everyday!!
uh i didnt get it yet?
financial aid comes out much later i think cuz fafsa delays and stuff
No your acceptance package mb
plus i think i messed up submitting docs
OH
one sec ill send a picture in the usc thread
Anyone knows when will uchicago release ed2?
scroll up
oops i forgot
ok i got it
you think they'll notify us of this by any chance?
like through instagram/twitter or something
this was sent on feb 10th, the day it released last time, so perhaps they just posted this on the day
ED II was notified on Feb 8th last year, 2 days before
I FINALLY GOT MY SHIRT
yooooo
nice
Anyone have an idea of the ED2 acceptance rate?
Has to be like 15-20 cuz RD is like .5%
it's probably somewhere around 8%, but that's just a guess
when does ed2 come out😞
yeah .5 is a little exaggeration
still very low cuz uchicago loves high yield
heard they like having a fourth of the class from each round
