They had to answer a lot of calls about my app, because I had a super weird transcript

And there was one specific EC they got asked about occasionally, likely more if my counselor hadn't called ahead to all the schools I applied to, in order to vouch for me

My GC did a good job of contacting the schools I applied to and explaining m transcript, but some still called and asked questions anyway

Generally colleges will trust you about ECs and Honors, but they might verify if you claim something crazy

Or just do random audits

But most the time they don't

yeah what raucous said, you can, but you have to take discrete math, proof-based linear algebra, proof-based multivariate calculus (as in calc over Rn, not just calc 3/vec calc. so manifolds, basic topology, etc), and an analysis course to get into 21235 first sem. also keep in mind all four of these courses have to be up to CMU's standards of rigor, and since CMU is a top 10 math school, those standards are pretty high. i know someone who took all four of these courses at Chapel Hill and got As in everything who got to take 235 in his first sem. don't know of any others.

if the courses you've taken so far allow you to pretty easily work through all of axler and chapters 1-10 of baby rudin, then you probably have a decent chance at getting into 21235 first sem (note that even if u can breeze through baby rudin in an afternoon but you lack the coursework to back it up, then your chances of getting into 235 are not great)

but i wouldnt worry abt it if not, thats like extremely orz

math is fairly competitive (~10% last year i think? same as engineering). however getting an additional major in cs is very doable (in terms of AR; you basically just have to get mostly As in CS cores and waffle for 200 words about your passion in CS). that + generous double-counting + quant culture/recruiting at cmu makes math + cs one of the most popular double majors i know of
