#All UCs 🐻🐮🐴🐱🐶🔱🤠🐌 (2023-2024)

44 is wild
we have not seen a single kid get rejected with a 4.8 gpa
UCI for my school
where did you see this
Ours does too but way smaller
naviance
We had like 8 UCI admits last year 😭
last year the # of admits went hella down tho
this is my hs
fewer than 3 is crazy...
Ohh
I need to pull up my Naviance
Dang
man
most of the ppl at my hs don't know anything abt college so they just end up choosing the wrong options
hmmm
that explains irvine for my school
How do i get this
this is for mine 😭
both kinda
UCI was brutal
I see
i think someone several years back chose cc over harvard 🧍♀️ from our school
bro i got rejected too
i have a 4.06 and at least 3 people have gotten into cornell with between 4.1 and 4.2 so i guess its possible
but
or a school rlly close to ours
my essays were shit
the fgli presence at my school is really high and most ppl don't make educated decisions for college ngl
https://www.sfchronicle.com/projects/2023/uc-admissions-acceptance-rates/
scroll down half way
for nthis chart
you have to be subscribed though
that's crazy
use ublock extension
its not for me eother
We are the only minority majority school in my county 😎 also huge fgli presence
it gets rid of paywall
why did they accept more berkeley than irvine 💀
but also im accessing from my school account
im not
im not even logged in
W
i have ad block on tho
We had nineteen people apply to Irvine this year
this was my HS total
How is this
What site is this?
how do i remove a school from the "colleges im applying to list"
scroll upp gang
I actually want to see the stats for my high school class
rates look pretty reasonable overall
LMAO
I at least have a better chance of being accepted to Berkeley then than most people
I'd take 17% over 11% any day
How cute
oh god
Ik last year there were 7 admits last year but 4 went
Guessing some got off wl
T2500 school!
I was gonna freak out over the 32 accepted to LA but i saw the 353
Wow half your class applied ot the UC system
Mine is T150 in California which is basically the same thing
Wait how do i see mine
LMAO yeah uc's hella popular at my school
How do i see what rnk my school is
Mine is t2500 in ca I think 😭
google it
ah
Oh I lied
u guys can also see this
T400
if u scroll down more
ah
WHY IS MY SCHOOL 32% FOR SANTA CRUZ
T1100 in US
this is what they've based it off of
and there are no ads on this
what's ur uc wgpa
i didnt reach near 4.3 until senior year
how do i know that
um wtf
nah, I'd get cooked
or grade inflation for APs is crazy
I've heard that schools give out 2 weighted for them and 1 for honors
THAT IS INSANE
we have grade deflation 💀💀 a lotta ppl just focus way more on school than ec's
Bro at my school AP/Honors are 5.0
uc berkeley regents or ucla
So I have a 4.6 rn even though I have 8 Bs on the transcript
4.33 UC WGPA
my actual WGPA is less tho
Berkeley regents
But that's a 3.8 UW actually
berkeley
💀
and it would be less rn if they counted senior grades cuz i have one B
ucs use uc gpa for admission
i might be insane but i'd do ucla
UCLA would be more convenient for me
4.33 is not bad in the context of ur school seems like
i'd love to just come home on weekends and sleep in my own bed or have dinner w my parents
RIP
yea i come home every week
im home rn
gotta wake up early asf tmr tho 😢
yeah bro exactly my point
Everyone is like Berkeley this berkeley that
Berkeley is a great school
i miss my mom's food
do not get me wron
if i get in i'd freak out
But like UCLA would be so much more cnvenient
yk what i mean
Yes I got in to Harvard Law School
ok slay
bro is him
I'm a Law/med student rn
harvardian
I'm in both Law school and Med school so when i become a surgeon and get sued
i'll represnt myself
😣
isn’t it 22
yeah it is
?
its either the 15th or 22nd
i dont think its confirmed which atm
ohhh i see ty
np
I hope this Friday
i dont give a shit about ucla
ucla regents or berk regents 🌚
it was over from the second i started HS
If it’s this Friday I can go to powderpuff
UCLA
what's ur major
i’m cogsci
hmm
i did bio every UC
prob doing something in product management
I actually don’t remember but some variation of bio
My mom does this
tough decision honestly
or product design
u have to consider the smaller factors
Berk ‘28
😣
if you'd prefer to be closer to home, etc.
Silicon Valley proximity
berk is like
40 mins - 1 hr away from me
does berkeley actually have bad grade deflation
yessss
For some makes
Yeah that’s what my mom does
it's not bad but it's definitely apparent
what is grade deflation? i never understood this
yea i'd say berk
Tbf you don’t need to go to a big school for it
like ruby said
silicon valley proximity is nice
i got into 3 of my uc’s so far
wait did you get into berk early
One thing i'll give berkeley is that Silicon Valley is SICK
just waiting on ucla and ucsd now
She went to college in India for biotech 😭 and switched her job after doing cc certificates and now she’s in Silicon Valley
yess i did as a regents invitee
like most of the class could get a B or A but then the prof curves to a C average
i interviewed last week
ooooh congrats!!
WWW def berk then
You can get some nice internships
i got into ucd and uci a couple days ago too
ohhh i see then
sweeping the uc system fr
what do you plan on doing?
Congrats!!🍾
thank yoouuuuu :)))
bro when is santa cruz results coming out
putting regents on ur linkedin will help u stand out from other berkeley students too so
Don't say they're already out NO THEYRE NOT
20th i think….
that’s what my friends email said
I want to either be a veterinarian or interventional radiologist
😭
yeah bro i din't even get that email
Specialty of the month
okkkk rmb me when ur rich
what the heck chat.
i've wanted to be a neurosurgeon for so long
LOL bro will be way richer than me in our 20s
Should I hit the withdraw button
i didn’t apply to ucsc so i’m not sure sorry 😭
You and everyone who wants to go to med 😭
Yup they did send an email
bro i'm actually the only person at my hs
Ik sooo many neurosurgeon wannabes
I’m ngl neurology is nice on paper but so depressing irl
i could not do med school if my life depended on it
Their whole department is not it
Me w cs
how do u like it there at ucla so far
i like the stress and fast paced job
oh how’s the quarter system…..
pretty nice
i actually like the quarter system
cuz time flies by
if u learn fast you'll be ok
that would be hilarious
Very isolationist and not welcoming at all 😭 like depressing asf + everything is very cold (vibe wise)
Political science major or English major for Pre-Law? we were debating with our AP lit teacher over this she was saying English major is way more useful (she's biased)
Like other departments I feel like are very collaborative and welcoming but I didn’t get that from neurology
the second half of each quarter is just pure studying tho cuz u have 2 midterms and a final for most classes
no way
Yikes
Berk is on sem system!
yaaaa
I can’t go to Berk
why?
the finals are honestly easy cuz it's stuff from 10 weeks ago so i still remember everything even with little studying
They’ve already started
Should I have gone to a private hs? I am in a public one rn and I'm thinking that maybe I am not the strongest canditate for this reason for UCs
Yeah I feel like I’d be way better off w the quarter system bc I cram
bro the UCs favor public high schools
yea if you're a crammer you'd be fine for most exams on a quarter system
but then they gave me a chance at regents and admitted me early so i was gagged 😭
The private schools in my area are way better than public
same
yeah this is why I'm wondering
The pollen count is alr so high im dying
my friend went to a private school for 3 years and transferred to my public for senior year JUST to get a leg up in admissions
I just need 2-3 days fr
no if u look at that link i sent earlier, most private schools have average/low UC acceptance rates
and it worked bruh he got into Davis and Irvine for business and he's not even an academic weapon
higher for public typically
I’m a really strong candidate from my trashy public school but that wouldn’t necessarily be true at private ones
wait how does that work like do ao's compare them to the priv school or public school
Cause most private kids like going to private colleges
i have friends who went to private school and most ended up at top LACs
It’s harder to adjust
i do the same
I'm assuming both, but my public school offers hella APs and the kids at my school take more APs each year than the private school. When he was at his private last year he took 3 APs and said that was really high for his hs, but at my public school taking 3 APs in one year is super normal and people go up to 6 APs in a single year (what i'm doing rn)
Lowkey was scared of the quarter system but this makes it feel a lot better
it's definitely an adjustment
but after your first quarter you learn a lot
ohhh
That’s valid
im on my second qtr rn and i learned enough to manage now
im scoring hella above the median for all my exams now
last qtr tho... 💀
WWW 😁
woah
4 if u consider summer
no
lmao
damn bro
quarter is harder then, no?
same content shorter amnt of time
it depends on what you're strong at
if you're able to learn quickly and you're a crammer when studying
quarter system is prob best for u
apparently my school preps us for college by putting gov/macro and both ap physics C's in one year
semester system is slower but you're gonna have to recall things from many weeks ago for the final exams
so gov in one sem macro the other, same w theo ther physics
me when i cram everything the nightbefore
fr
same
if any of u guys commit to ucla and have to take math courses
if jukka keranen is available then take him
bro is the goat
i will be shocked if i have a better prof than him in the future
damn
my schools like
a rlly crappy public school
we send davis most
ucsd and ucla least
berk irvine ucsc in between
berk in between?
berk accepted like 30% of applicants from my hs for the class of 2022
which is odd
other years it's been around 10%
can i change my civil engineering major from uci to economics? if so, how?
i assume u got accepted
if so then yes u can change it but idk how
every uc has a diff process
yeaa although i thought about it and realized that civil engineering is different than industrial engineering so i dont want it anymore
alr thanks so muchh
np
yoo another econ kid
lets go
Another Civil Engineer interested in Economics 👀
Yeah it's possible to change your major once you enroll
Shouldn't be too hard to change majors since you're not going into CS
Ahahaha
Speaking of CS about 13 kids from my school got into UCI just one who got waitlisted and they applied for cs
so makes sense to never apply cs so harddd
I’m surprised 13 were accepted tho we’re a random school in the Middle East💀
Crazy
UCs love international students tbh
It's harder to get in in-state than OOS or International
we do
It's counterbalanced by international and OOS kids getting no aid 💀
lower tuition
UCs like international and OOS kids because it helps them fill their budget gaps
Well in my country’s case our tuition is fully covered by the goverment that’s why poor folks apply no aid despite being low income
Ig that’s why UCs accepted us oops😂
Trueeee
Kinda annoying that the state doesn't have the budgets for the UCs and CSUs on higher priority tho 😭
agreeed
Actual W for your government tbh
fr fr really grateful everything is covered plus a monthly salary win for us and win for colleges who get tuition payed on time ahahah
i need to move there
comeee hereee👀👀
anxious for ucla and cal tho I’m surprised UCI dropped results I thought it was on the 17th it was so sudden
UC Irvine stole the spotlight from UC Davis smh smh
Seriously though kinda scary UCLA and UCSD are probably coming in five days
I heard Davis had weird admissions this year
im 0-1 so far
davis and irvine
like half of the kids at my school who got into UCI got into Davis the other half got flat out rejected 😂😂
Nah nah I haven't heard many people complain about Davis' shenanigans
Now, Irvine
Admissions has been odd this year
Irvine is on smth
irvine was truly wildin this year
fr fr u should’ve gotten in i remember you applied to met
Which I got the video for but didn’t end up making the Final Cut 💀
irvine AOs were ⚡️📈 on something 😂
i didnt even bother applying to irvine
I just love the oc vibe tbh and close to Disney
so was like might as well apply 😂
Just Incase cal and ucla don’t go well
ngl i thought it was for people who didnt get into ucla or just didnt have confidence
i get that but i wish instate was more priority tbh
i want UCSD lol
in the case of people from my school and area they view Irvine as sort of a target and a worst case scenario in case berk or ucla don’t go well
same
san diego and santa barbara exists
nahh they just applied to cal UCI and ucla
do uci and ucd send acceptance packages
Evil gang 😈Evil gang 😈
UCI as a worst case scenario is crazy
not even ucsd??
Is UCI not a target
I had UCI, ucsd, ucsb, and ucd listed as targets
Hope so
I want a legit acceptance packet not rutgers’ stickers 😭
Evil Gang
Why dont i get their stickers
thats evil
i saw a reddit post from last year that says all they got was the acceptance letter in paper form
no sticker either 💀
😭 idk
Bro
Even Rutgers one uped them ig
Evil gang 😈
It is a target but a safety in the eyes of many at my school
Safety is crazy
Can u even call it a target anymore
safety is crazy
uci probably a target for you out of state fools
ucla doesnt but uci does
more money
not more oos students necessarily but higher acceptance rate for oos
cuz they know yield for oos is low
Oh
so they needa overadmit to ensure they can still get a sufficient amt of oos students
to get that more money from them
i think a big reason their acceptance rate has dropped so much is that they just have an insane amount of applications nowadays
20% acceptance rate is crazy
UCLA alone has nearly 150k first year applicants
😭
u get stickers and printed copy of acceptance letter
its joever
the only ood acceptance package i remember last year was from jhu
i think they got a speaker
They did
why is everyone so greedy? just stay put! socal is mine!
i would not be surprised if ucla is the first college to officially limit their applications
So real as someone who lives within like 30 minutes from UCLA I claim UCLA as my territory
they do ! newsom passed a bill to give more funding to the uc/csu system so more in state kids could get in :D
Based
jhu had such a W package. i luv harvard and in general the private school acceptance package, like u could get a shirt, hat, a bag, etc, more than just stickers
ya its growing fast. soon its gunna hit 200k
exactly I hope I get into one of my reaches just for that
LMAO WHAT
it's true ! they gave 215 mill to uc and 227 mill to csu (idk if u were questioning my statement i did not fully understand the tone apologies)
me w berk
bro everyones shitting on uci and now im reconsidering if i should even go there 😭
We’re all salty take our comments with a grain of salt lol
we just salty we got rejected
otherwise i liked the campus and the city
city has lots of good food
campus very pretty
So real
Mee
Excuse me, I think you meant that the campus was disgusting, the city was boring, the food sucked, and the school was mid
That one I got to agree with
lame ass mascot
hey guys what do we think about instating legacy for ucs
all they have are basketball games where is the football
Best idea ever and we should discriminate against low income students. Make minimum income to attend 100k a year
I think that would be a good idea
What do you guys think
?!
Allow people to pay to go to UCLA like they do at USC
Oh hell nah I heard of this one story where a Qatari prince tried doing that with UCLA
But went to USC instead after getting rebuffed by UCLA
"His highness doesn't like to hear no," one associate told a professor.
IM SOBBING WHAT
this guy would not be able to survive in an asian household
Insanity
When does ucsd comes out
Qatar and gambling should not go together 💀
oh i read this whole thing a while back it's interesting to say the least
guys would ucsd comeout this friday
maybe
high chance?

😭
we honestly have no idea
bc traditionally its the 3rd friday of march
but in 2020 (or 2019 idr) March 1st was a friday and they dropped march 22nd
ucla and berkeley oos admit numbers dropped 40% in two years 😭
hm
😭
ca laws
w laws
w laws
w laws
why do you want to pay like 80k for college a year 💀 anyways
exactly
this too
same laws why UT isn't higher
bruh yield rate for oos at ucla went up so much recently
hey mine too xD
w laws
WHAT
uci is reallt cool ! ive been ignoring everyone n just thinking ab myself when considering lol
cost of living and taxes increased in CA be 150% in the last 2 years
have you seen the damn gas prices we have to pay?
fr
like yes I would love them to give oos more spots
below $5 gas is a unicorn for me
howd i get pinged in two diff threads at the exact same time damn
but this is like giving taxpayer dollars to foreign countries
(Oh wait we do that every fucking day)
but UC get money from fed gov too
yk who the Fed Gov gets money from?
California....
12% ya
Truly
UC gets the least money from california out of the 3 systems
oh so they increase tuition
That's cause they started the earliest
and have donors
and they also built a nuke
we don't talk about that thov
But I mean if you think that UCs are unfair towards oos y'all could just apply to Stanford
they treat us equally there, like how they all profits
dont worry already rejected
I wish you the best of luck for USC
csu, ucs, and ccc...?
whats the third system
ccc
you just named all 3
I honestly love the CC system
they get like 3x more
they have to right
they don't make much tuition, and they educate a ton of people
really?
yeah cc is free
i'm a dual student
college of the sequoias is like 2k a year for some programs
is that same when out of high school
Do y'all think it's cringe to post on co'28 pages before committing
basically CCs are free if you fit any of their like
YES OH MY GOD
75 criterias
but if you don't fit the 75 criterias, you gotta pay?
ok cause I was considering it but I feel like it's so cringe yk
well ok i know a bunch of ppl who do it....
and like
thank u for putting multiple schools like why??
UC gets so much money from medical centers damnn
idek its weird imo
that's why they the richest ong
the most expensive ride in California isn't a joke
wdym
ride on an ambulance
I want to connect w people who got into schools I'm considering
but at the same time
it's cringe to be like "not 100% committed but one of my top choices"
wait 17 bilion isnt even that much when the us sent how much outside
FRRR
eh like
500B at this point
average day
When is the next uc coming out?
!ucsb
UC Santa Barbara RD decisions come out <t:1710885600:F> in your local time
8 days, 17 hours and 16 minutes until the decision date
uci finally sent an email bruh
they only sent me honors
I didn't get
oh my bad
it was for intl accepted students
thought theyd send something else to everyone
idk man uci wilding for sending no emails though
did u get acceptance letter tho?
intl non orc
they hate me
i just got the honors accepted email
yeah
how many ecs did u have?
oh
like classes not on my transcript
Weighed?
Hello
0 aps
and got waitlisted
hi
Gn
co'28 cross admits are so funny
wait i just did the ucsd applicant survey in their portal
it wasnt req to review my app or anything right
huh
yeah same 😭 imagine posting on like 20 pages
LMAO yeah I saw someone on the USC page say "I'm not committed yet but FSU is definitely one of my top choices!!"
👎
i don't think they ever email
they didn't email me last yr either
They emailed me just to give me an L
Tragic
Written by the entire admissions committee
UC Irvine sent emails to like, half the people
The rest just got radio silence
Admits, Waitlists, and Rejections alike
Irvine did somethin' goofy
Please do not refer to Berkeley as "UCB." This is not the proper way to refer to the University of California's original and flagship campus. Cal, Berkeley or UC Berkeley are all proper and acceptable ways to say it. UCB, on the other hand, is not. As the system's most prestigious and respected campus, we feel that it is important to honor and maintain an appropriate level of respect for our university's name. We feel that "UCB" cheapens our brand and doesn't emphasize the incredible prestige associated with Berkeley. While it may be acceptable to refer to all other UC campuses in initialisms due to their lack of recognition and prestige, this is not acceptable for the flagship and most well-known campus, and we therefore request that you cease using the name "UCB" to refer our school. Thank you.
When are UCB decisions again?
28th
Thanks

💀
who's the number 1 public university in the nation
UCLA !!1!!!!1!!!!1!111!!
LMAOOOOOOO
Berkeley>>>>>>>>>LA.
Bro's trying hard to fit in
Issok I know you secretly like Stanford
shut up im coping
lol
Is there a separate thread for Irvine?
i personally hate the university of california at irvine
no
what is this hate aginst Irvine lmao
UC Irvine gave me an L, therefore I am now a UC Irvine hater for the year of 2028
UCI was smart enough to Admit me so they are the best
not smart enough to accept me tho
UCI admitted me but they're still mid cuz its crazy expensive
UCI waitlisted me but i still love them because they have my major <3
exact same as my friend uci is the only uc that has a criminology major but she got wl
UCI is the only UC with a journalism major rip
although that was before I discovered berkeley media studies
so now im chilling but still UCI had literary journalism 🥹
yeah berk media studies sounds rlly cool
i didn't apply to it though because i didn't do my research and i thought media studies was like film
whens ucla hitting
15 or 22 or {11-31}
wat about sd
UCLA rejection for sure
me too
UCI waitlist but Berkeley admit 💀
lol you should see the other UCI waitlists
mit admit, uchicago ea, columbia likely
im coping
damnn
I think this just proves UCI a much more selective and better college and soon gonna beat out MIT and Harvard
Mark my words people 😎
dang
Fr
UCI has learned their lesson... so going on super aggressive on rejections/waitlists ... https://bonniekgoodman.medium.com/uc-irvine-rescinds-admission-offers-to-500-freshmen-because-of-over-enrollment-382d4ff117a3
Add that to mix that it has to get rid of its image as "safety school" for MIT/Harward/Top Ivy capable candidates...
the article says a lot of the reasons were vague
I think that one C in my transcript is the reason I got rejected
and some people got rescinded for "submitting transcripts late" even though they have proof they did it on time
there's no benefit to overanalyzing your results and what could've been done, i know its easier said than done but try to put what's already happened behind you and be optimistic for the future <3
right .... just keep your fingers crossed and hope your acceptances are good till you actually end up in college...
Damn
I have C too
But i got wo
Wl
when is ucsd ucla and ucb coming
UCLA rejection I just know it
berkeley confirmed march 28
ucsd ucla speculated march 15/22
Math nerds ... solve.... If a UC gets 100,000 applications and each application takes 4 min to review... how many days will it take to review all applications? Assuming each reviewer has 10 hours a day (very optimistic).. How many reviewers would be needed to finish all apps in 3 month period?
but one application must be read by at least 2 people...
You need 400,000 minutes
There are 43,000 minutes in a month
Multiply by 3, 129,000 minutes in 3 months
I don’t know where to go from there
Each reviewer has 600 minutes in a day
54000 minutes in 3 months
therefore you need 7.5 to get to 400000 minutes
double that number
coz ^
ya so 15
so then how many reviewers does a UC normally have
15
Imagine being the poor soul who reads 6,600 apps per year
Now I feel bad for UC app reviewers besides the Irvine ones
and an application is considered for more than 4 minutes?
Fuck Irvine
There's like no way💀
they got to have like 30 at least
I mean if there’s only 15 and you get 100k apps
yeah 10 hours is overly optimistic and thats assuming they work every holiday and weekend
yeah
ya but how do we know its 15
they don’t work Christmas
I am going to assume they have at least some sort of filter wall.
one of the best universities in the world, gotta have an AI system to filter out the worst of the worst applications at the very least
thats just an estimate, they would have more to reduce work time
I think so too because Berkeley flagged me like a day after submitting to send me a LoR request
Nobody got asked from my school for Berkeley LoRs
they fr be doing rng in the backend
They hit me up at the right time tho for LoRs
I sent them some decent ones
uc's hire application readers
so they probably do an initial screening or something
and then they filter and the AOs read only the filtered ones
you never know though
What do you have to do to not make it through the filter
maybe pretentious self-obsessed egoistic essays
maybe REALLY bad grades like <2.0 gpa with no special circumstances
maybe not filling out the activity section 💀
there's no way of knowing ngl
maybe when i become an app reader in 5 years ill tell yall
Imagine doing everything right, like good ECs, GPA, awards
just to write the most egotistical essays to grace the desk of an app reader
Its difficult to imagine a gpa < 3 applying to UCs (atleast should not be many)... and spending about 300+ $... when they know their odds are low. Most of this applicants will be going non-UC routes.
my friend put down his three words for brown as "boldly building bridges"
like bestie you're not an architect what bridges are you building
idk came across as pretentious to me
oh yeah uc's have the minimum gpa to apply right? forgot about that
3.4 for oos
I wouldn’t be surprised if they pushed it to 3.5 in state soon
Same
😭😭
The hate against Irvine is real
I love irvine
I love Irvine too
Bruh ik 3.4 gpa students who did not deserve to get in but got in
most random ass shit ever
I think the no - and + saved me for my recalculated GPA
what
the
flip
My UC GPA is above a 4.0 and I got rejected from Irvine lmao
But then some of the most random ass people did
I legitimately don’t get it
What are they smoking up there
I know 3.8 UC GPA students who made it bro
its def not 15
Just…fuck Irvine bruh
I mean cool for taking students who wouldn’t get into top UCs otherwise
But damn
What were y’all’s class ranks?
because we’re assuming that each reviewer is reading applications nonstop, while there is some down time between each application, and they need breaks
so i would say atleast 20 reviewers
27th and rejected
But UC GPA wise like top 13
No class ranks
My school doesn’t do specific numbers but in quintiles. So that makes me between the 20%-40% percentile of my class
But I feel like the reason I got accepted into uci is my writing. Not so much academics.
Top 10%, we don't rank
how is the rank different for uc gpa?
because 10-11th are counted for UC
but rank wise 9th - 12th
So by normal rank im like top 20% just barely
But UC GPA wise im like top 8% minimum
what happened to luck
Uci thinks they’re caltech
So which is better for EE major, UCSB or UCI?
Did uci have better engineering schools?
UCI said they are having 147000 applicants this year??!
122K first years, that much with transfer
insanity
that nullified some of the pain from getting rejected oddly enough
if davis crashed with 98k apps, just imagine how LA's gonna be next week with 146k
🧂
🥛
i think LA’s used to it tho, they had a similar number last year
if u got in ucd ur prolly cooked for la
y?
those who got into berk la sd getting wl or rejected from ucd uci ucr
Ur just seeing people saying that to people who got rejected/waitlist from uci/ucd ofc theres people who got into both
impossible
Wow ucsd has more than Berkeley
nah fr
I’m cooked lmao
it’s crazy LMAO
It’s like everyone is using UCSD as a safety precaution against Berkeley or smth
I don’t think I’ve ever heard of UCSD being a safety 💀
imo it’s likely because of location
I think overall ucsd just has a nicer campus than Berkeley
that too fs
ucsd is soo big tho
berk is notoriously unsafe 😭
Ah Idk anything about the UCs so
Because Berkeley reputation is ehh
Uc socially dead
Only reason why Berkeley is alive is because of protests
UCLA rejects
Lol really
Campus looks good tho
nah my friends that go there stll have plenty of fun but they do complain a lot about the protests and the grading and the homeless tweakers everywhere
wait is this tru?
nah its some schedule 1 copium or somethn
nah im just yapping
I do know someone who got waitlisted Davis, rejected uci but got Berkeley early
But take it with a grain of salt because it’s probably just d1 coping
people be believing anything these days
why tf would I cope tho
Yeah ik someone rejected uci and got in caltech
Yeah theres always exceptions but the vast majority isnt like that
this is why the UCs should have early action
everyone would apply ea again
but yea i don’t think EA would make a difference
Yeah not really
I mean unless the deadline was like october
ucd uci too expensive
non cali early action
Whatever process they follow.... maximum freshmen they can enroll are 6000 to 7000 for all above UCs.... So math does not work when 100K+ applicants are expecting positive results.
fr
Would make more sense if in state had early
non cali EA would be nice
for what
Uc
Yeah I’m just saying if there was because I’m pretty sure cali has laws that prioritize in state students
every state does
kinda breaks the whole state schools serving their state thing tho?
acceptance rate for oos would be signifncantly lower
like theretically if berkeley had 100 seats, oos EA would want to fill up like 10 seats
It is called the university of California system after all
as a cali resident i think that ucs should prioritize way more cali residents than oos
idk
cuz u know keep the talent in cali
ideally this is prioritizing
90% of the seats is california
I agree but that’s not the case and won’t be the case for this year
tru
Idk if the same goes for gatech but they somewhat do the same thing
Uc system fell off
that seems fine ig
100%
ucs fell off anyway
berkeley has mostly out of state
Of course Berkeley would
la has roughly the same amount
And to be honest some of them deserve it more than in state students but I get it.
but it's still a california state school
true but i mean they have their own state schools and other privates
thats what cal state is for 😂
If you deserve to be at ucla you deserve to be in your best state school 🤷
leave the UCs to us
Yeah I know and I’m a California resident but I feel like it is what it is
you not paying cali state tax tho
attract talent to california
no
I would cap oos at 5% ngl
uc schools should be filled up by california students mostly
Because that’s still a ton with the amount of people enrolling
i think it is 5% 😭
Yeah if you’re paying for taxes in cali then you’re basically funding those schools
That’s a good idea
it is filled up
by cali students
Which is also true
Def not at some campuses 💀
top UCs have so many out of state
well berkeley has a big reputation to uphold
its not just a public school
its top 10 in the entire world
Yeah and it’s sad because I’ve lived here my whole life and my parents have paid taxes. But I mean nothing I can do about it
ofc they want the diversity factor from other states
California has all the diversity you need
and counitries for the matter
agreed
Way too many people living here as it is
yeah and u dont realize the rest of the united states
True we are pretty diverse
i got into davis but rejected at irvine 😭😭😭 ive heard of regional preference happening in the uc’s in the past and since im from the bay area..
Anyone who says that wants to live in Malibu and then turns around when they see prices
