sooooo my options are:

option A:
-instate CS
-in my hometown
-a low cost and good financial option
-id still live on campus and get my college experience

option B:
-out of state UIUC CS
-far away
-quite expensive but money isnt a make or break
-good opportunities

idk what to do im leaning to staying in state but im scared i wont grow as a person if i stay in my home town, but also i dont wanna spend so much money to get the same job/degree. i feel like i could make the most out of my in state school too but ultimately i want no regrets

also my instate option is a lot lower cs rank than uiuc. alsooo i can see myself happy in both places, i just cant tell if its worth all the money to go somewhere new (uiuc), but also i wanna grow and have the most new experiences as possible and dont wanna miss out on that…i guess im wondering if its worth it to go to school for 240k at a better ranked school with more opportunities or stay at 120k at a lower ranked school and try and make the most of what i have while also enjoying my college life

if you can afford it, def UIUC

120k is not a huge amount in the long run as a CS major. I don't mean that UIUC will help you earn more (even though it definitely will), but if you're gonna earn it all back from either college, why not go to the better one.
