Intended major: Psychology + political science (pre-med)
Similarities: they both have great study abroad programs + a lot of international students for support
UofRochester
Pros:
- Emphasis on research
- Hospital on campus so experiences
- Smaller school so better for med school recs/grad school recs
- and merit scholarships!
Cons:
- unsafe neighborhoods
- a tad bit too academic
- no direct flight as an international
*UofToronto
Pros:
- Great location
- a lot of opportunities including research/internships
- canada has great visa/work study permits
- courses & studies seem so interesting
Cons:
- no scholarship but not as expensive
- large campus so harder professor connections
Tiebreaking considerations:
- i’m not too sure about med school so it’s on the table bur not very much fixed on yet!
- also considering transferring so maybe smaller school might be better for it
