Relative of mine got into both as international student, BS in CS.

ASU
Pros:
Close to some family
Bigger city lots to do
Internship opportunity due to bigger city and several companies around the city

Cons:
Lower, only 8k financial aid
classes too crowded

UofA
Pros:
22k aid
smaller school with less distractions
Cons:
no family
smaller city and nothing else to do
some Internship opportunities

Picking ASU but need to convince them to pick UofA due to higher funding. What else I/they should consider?

I personally had issues with ASU’s administration

#

And still am

#

I’ve had to email them for some transfer stuff (I dropped out and then enrolled elsewhere) and they’ll take multiple weeks to respond back to me even when I use an ASU email

#

Also had some issues with their staff just generally being assholes

#

You’re right that Tempe/Phoenix will likely have more opportunities, but UArizona is still a well regarded school. I also don’t feel like there’s that much to do around Phoenix, but I wasn’t there for too long tbf

Go UofA cuz it's cheaper and about as good for CS as ASU

Thats my suggestion, but they can afford to pay and looking for internships in summer is their drive
