Intended major: business/finance/entrepreneurship?? honestly i got no clue but im pretty sure i dont want to go into medicine/engineering if that helps lol

Similarities: none, they seem to be completely different

Tufts Pros:

  • I love Boston
  • my sister lives in boston, so i can easily go to her apartment and hang out and stuff
  • snow (im from the south)
  • im not too familiar with anything regarding academics at Tufts. If anyone has an info abt it, please lmk
  • i heard that students at tufts are very easy going or something (similar to brown student stereotype of being relaxed and non cutthroat etc)
  • smaller student body compared to ucla might allow for a more tight knit community??
  • good job outcomes (goes for both schools)

Tufts Cons:

  • not sure how i feel about the campus. i keep hearing that its really nice but it looks kinda ugly in pics i see online (similar to harvard's campus)
  • also snow. boston winter season is brutal
  • 80k more than UCLA over 4 years
  • less nationwide prestige than UCLA?
  • only really known/good for medicine?
  • less of a "fun factor" compared to UCLA?
  • less school spirit than UCLA
  • annoying hilly campus thats hard to walk?
  • bad food courts? not sure abt this

UCLA Pros:

  • LA
  • school spirit
  • prestige
  • more fun & well rounded school (public ivy + party school)
  • hotter students ๐Ÿ˜ญ (?)
  • #1 ranked dining hall
  • great campus
  • better merch lol
  • guaranteed housing 4 years
  • large school so opportunities
  • academically well rounded (no matter what i study, ill be fine)
  • 80k less overall than tufts

UCLA Cons:

  • reallllyyy far from home. im in the south east so both are pretty far from me, but LA is on another level
  • pollution?
  • quarter system
  • size might be overwhelming
  • issues w professors + class enrollment?
  • living/hanging out in LA is expensive

if anyone could please educate me on both schools, that would be great. i am currently very uninformed on both schools, so the lists may not be too accurate. thanks!
