Major: Biology (pre-med) or environmental science
Similarities:
. Similar cost (Although Buffalo has $5k/year scholarship)
. Like both campuses, and was accepted into honors program for both schools

Binghamton Pros:
. Smaller school

  • More personalized honors program and advisors
  • Easier to navigate and manage, from smaller high school
  • Shares SUNY programs, not limited
    . Lower acceptance rate
  • Motivated students outside of honors, more prestige
. Nicer honors dorms and much closer to home

Binghamton Cons:
. Not much opportunity in city

  • Unlikely to stay in Binghamton after graduating
  • Less opportunity for community involvement, and less hospitals to shadow or intern
. Not as many majors if I change career path

Buffalo Pros:
. Larger school

  • More research opportunities, clubs, and school organizations
  • More classes and majors to explore fields and interests, and there's a medical campus
. Larger and more lively city
  • Museums, festivals, community organizations, and more hospitals
  • More likely to stay in Buffalo after graduating
. Strong STEM programs (Curriculum seems to be more structured)
. Some family in Buffalo, can take train from home, and more dining options

Buffalo Cons:
. Large school is overwhelming

  • Less personalized help that I'll need in which I lack social skills to make connections
    . Higher acceptance rate
  • Less prestige, and likely less motivated students
    . Dorms not as nice

Tiebreaker:
If I was able to see if Buffalo was as personalized as Binghamton, then I would likely choose Buffalo. On the other hand, Binghamton would seem like a good option if I was able to see how many opportunities it truly has

Have you toured both schools? Try looking up any specific programs you might be interested in at both schools and look at how student life is for both schools

If it helps I’ve also heard the college town in bing is pretty nice and that’s there’s a substantial amount to do if location is a factor
