Intended major: eng lit/creative writing and theater (drama)
Similarities: cost of attendance, urban/suburban location, great alumni network, very prestigious

School 1 Pros:

  1. closer to home and bf’s school
  2. ivy league level education
  3. tri-co (love swat and haverford) + quaker consortium
  4. creative and driven environment
  5. cool honor code and mascot
  6. amazing beautiful incredible campus
  7. probably more prestigious as a seven sister
  8. smaller class sizes
  9. dorms + food

School 1 Cons:

  1. racism issue??? can anyone elaborate???
  2. as a cis straight POC i’m scared i won’t fit in at a PWI HWC and will deal with a lot of white saviors. i’m an ally and a feminist but idk if i fit the school’s vibe

rochester

School 2 Pros:

  1. eastman school of music!!! huge arts scene
  2. OPEN CURRICULUM!
  3. the alumni and current students rave about the school
  4. highly ranked on USNews
  5. amazing a cappella
  6. great education, very collegiate
  7. i feel like people consider the students to be super intelligent and it’s very well regarded
  8. still small but not as tiny as BMC
  9. a little bit more of a competitive environment solely because there are more students

School 2 Cons:

  1. research/STEM focused
  2. so super far. would live in an isolating place of upstate NY and would deal with a long distance relationship
  3. i have not been able to tour it/see it in person yet. i did love everything i’ve heard from virtual info sessions and photos/videos though!

u seem to like of u of r more than bryn mawr so i’d go with u of r. also not to be that person but i would not base your college decision on your high school bf.
