Hello all,
I need some advice on which school to commit to. I know it all comes down to my decision, but it helps to know what some people think. I am choosing between UIUC and UMich-Ann Arbor.
I have no preference for weather and am more interested in academics. I also am coming from a small community college as a transfer student, so I'm wondering if the size of UMich will be overwhelming. But also, I tend to adjust well and am fine with meeting new people and having a fresh start.
Major:
Molecular and Cellular Biology Major for both schools, LSA for UMich
Pre-Med/Pre-PA Student
I would like to do Air Force ROTC. (anyone know which school's AFROTC program is better?)
Finance:
In-state for UIUC and have a full scholarship.
Out-of-state for UMich and a transfer student. I don't know how much money I got from UMich, but I am OOS, and I heard a lot of different things with their aid.
Is it worth paying maybe $5k, $10k, or $15k more out of pocket to go to UMich? (these numbers are totally random) Also, I don't like how some schools are really competitive, and I heard UMich is competitive for clubs, internships, and such. Also, do UMich and UIUC have nearby hospitals I could work/volunteer at?
Overall, I have a really strong desire to go to U-Mich, lol. Partially because almost everyone from my high school goes to UIUC, and I want to enjoy a more vibrant college town such as Ann Arbor. Also, going there has the new environment I'm looking for. I know I am asking a lot of things here. I really appreciate any feedback! If anyone wants to know my stats feel free to PM me.
If you need more info, please let me know!
Thank you
