Schools: UT Austin, Pittsburgh, NJIT
Intended major: Mechanical Engineering
Texas Pros:
-Good weather, will be happy there
-I love the football culture here and Iwill be able to do all my activities there
-Has a strong aerospace program because I am unsure if I want to do aerospace or mechanical
-Good placement for grad school
Texas Cons:
-Most expensive school, around $103k for all 4 years if i get residency sophomore year
-Need to get residency my sophomore year so I will need to work 20 hours a week for my freshman year
-It is possible that I could end up getting loans
-Far from home (NJ)
Pittsburgh Pros:
-Full tuition scholarship (will pay around $40k for all 4 years)
-I will be able to do all my activities here and there is a Football culture, but not as strong as Texas
-My family can afford it
-Far but not too far from home
Pittsburgh Cons:
-Mechanical Engineering department is small
-No Aerospace Engineering Program
-Less research than Texas
-Shitty weather
-Less prestige
NJIT Pros:
-Cheapest school out of all of them, will cost $15k for all 4 years
-Close to family
-Close to my high school friends
-Strong Mechanical Engineering Program with Aerospace Engineering classes
-Close to NYC
-Good amount of research
-Decent placement for grad school
NJIT Cons:
-All the students are depressed
-No sports culture
-It is a sausage festival
-It is in Newark (kinda dangerous city)
