Surprised JHU isn't on the list, but i guess aid could be a problem

Just a junior and I haven't applied yet but I'll say that I live pretty close to Rice and I've visited it a few times because my dad went there (albeit for engineering)

#

Personally I would say it is a good option for premed, especially your "Easily accessible research opps, Nearby hospitals & clinics" thing since it's right next to the Texas Medical Center which I would think is an excellent opportunity for a pre-med student

#

Also if you're looking for a city, Houston is amazing imo though you may die during May to September bc Texas weather

Lots to do in Houston though, I love the Galleria

#

Rice itself is rather closed off from the rest of Houston but it's still urban and right near some great places like Hermann Park and stuff

#

So yes I would say apply for Rice, I like it when I visit it (though it is not my first choice bc I want to go out of state, WashU is my top choice)

I also did a summer program at Brown for medicine, it was fine enough but I like more closed off campuses which Brown is not (Thayer St. goes right through it) and also Brown is a pretty nice place but I would not want to live there and from what I could tell there is a lot of Greek life there (pretty much a whole Greek Life quad) so take as you will
