we just have two sets of exams, GCSEs in 10th grade and A-Levels at the end of 12th

american schools calculate your GPA solely off GCSEs usually and sometimes predicted grades for A-Levels, so if you ace them you'd have a really good score and you don't have to worry about 9th and 11th as much
