The average Math SAT and average EBRW are 738 and 718 respectively

meaning the distribution in SAT scores is heavily skewed to the left

most of the people bringing down the avg SAT is probably athletes

Thus its more accurate to look at the median for comparison

Yield protection is way too overestimated by A2C, Virginia Tech definitely doesn't do this.

In general, most universities don't do it. Most schools get a lot of qualified applicants, so even if they wanted to, they just can't just because they don't have the space, or sometimes they'll notice a candidate is qualified but may not be the best fit for the school because maybe the school doesn't offer a program/something they need academically, they can't provide the student enough financial aid, and/or the student doesn't really demonstrate interest in going to the school. Sometimes, it's just bad luck too.

Virginia Tech has been getting really popular lately, especially their engineering and CS departments, so they likely can't take everybody they want to, even if most of the applicants are super qualified.
