you are free to pursue it
especially if you head your own firm it can pay well
personally i dropped out immediately to cc
I just don't think I need some random person telling me what to pursue or why I shouldn't pursue what I'm interested in
what I choose to do is up to me
Turmoil in the atc server
You have committed a cardinal sin
“Please do not call a2c atc”
Ucb
Oop
@tender elm i think immma be a triton
ayooooo
congrats!!
TRITON UP
oo
ZAMN
lmao
It keeps getting better
are u in sixth too?
it is
u like it tho?
Was my #4
no way
didnt do enough research
i got my top this year which is weird
im glad i could spare a few ppl from the MMW sequence
i put rosevelt dead last
i’m so glad i actually researched
i looked up each building each ge req and everything
i was very lucky to get muir for sd
they were built in 2003
Ayeeee
i did not expect to get my first choice
nicee
goated college @grand kernel
(not going to SD but still very surprised)
thinking about ucsd as a transfer college
them releasing the waitlist by accident was both funny and unnerving lmao
because i didn't get anything from the waitlist so i knew i was either an accept or a rejct
second for me
Same but then I got rejected
i want to do game design
so i’m doing icam at ucsd hopefully i learn enough to get a career
i want to study viruses
y r u back
interesting that’s a smart person career
academia wooooo
time to be poor until i get tenure!
*if
I thought you want to do biomed?
not anymore
I looked at medicine through rose tinted glasses
definitely motivated, viruses are insanely cool
Are you still in history?
what’s your top choice tho
UCLA
omg you got in?
❤️ thank you
undeclared
At the point of looking at civil, I’d honestly recommend checking Mech E
It covers some stuff of civil but a more broad scope
what do mech e majors do
“Mechanical engineers design power-producing machines, such as electric generators, internal combustion engines, and steam and gas turbines, as well as power-using machines, such as refrigeration and air-conditioning systems”
Tldr: build machines / systems
sounds nothing like what I want to do in civ e
which is work in transportation and pedestrian accessibility
physics
UCSD and UCLA are both insane schools
That can still apply
getting into UCSD is no small feat
yeah but la is best for game design and i live an hr away, id love to come home a lot
A lot of mech E knowledge covers what you learn in civil
- other majors
So you get that broad knowledge
Start wide, narrow later
sd is 4 hours away from my house 😭
I’d recommend asking a counselor for better clarity @limpid patrol but I HIGHLY recommend looking at Mech E as an option imho
ty
Mech E also covers a ton in industries like biomed. It’s a JOAT major
no i’ve been doing comp sci principles game design which is like kindergarten code.org type shit
ah
i rlly wanted to do 3d modeling rigging and animation
i'm sort of in the same boat as you, i haven't got any labwork experience but i like reading textbooks 😂
which i could go to ucsc for but the housing crisis and shit makes me not want to
dude i've seen videos of gun rigging/animation and it's so crazy
i haven’t done much, i only have an ipad but i love it
UCSC area is hella pricy
way to pricey , id be homeless
Are you looking at SD instead?
yeah
it’s very pricey but i doubt id be homeless here
UCSB is worse
Any beach side properties typically don’t get maintained
So they are often the WORSE properties
- more expensive
UCLA's building new housing innit?
i remember the rep who came to visit our school said that LA would guarantee housing for all 4 years
oh lmao i was so confused 😂
they do
also they're in a more dangerous area imo
san diego is pretty safe in my opinion for the most part
prone to landslides, large waves, flooding, etc
with the current state of the climate you never know 😂
my sisters dad lives out there so they’ll visit a lot and i won’t get lonely 😭
@vernal agate you really might be right on target
all this time I thought I'd have to drop out go to CC or transfer but turns out might have to do any of those things
my best friend of 8 years got in with me so we chillin in a dorm together 😂
I can stay right where I am
Sry it’s a bad habit
if i’m still obsessed with ucla i might try to transfer but i’m sure i’ll love ucsd
have you seen the sunsets at the Salk Institute?
i haven’t been to ucsd yet
hang on lemme get a pic
probably not until april
at the fall equinox
aww that’s so pretty
salk
exactly be proud of it cuz others didnt get in
🔫🔫
i’m definitely proud and great ful it is really hard
Santa Barbara is best college town in cali?
just a little sad cause you know i looked forward to la for 7 years, and uci for a year cause i found my passion for game design. Since ucsd doesn’t have my major i’m a little scared
i hope i learn enough to fulfill my career goals
i understand mhm
u didnt get in uci?
nope 😦
lmao i wish fr
🔫
and ucsd is very strong w my major too
i got fucked by ucla HAAHHAHA
even though i really wantd to go there
and i got wl by sd
is it too late to switch my alternate and first choices for berkeley?
yeah i think the deadline was end of january
lmao this is so wrong
sad, thanks tho
not really bro you take alot of the same courses
mostly like the classes about statics and deformable solids
u don't really do much of the civilE like the actual civil stuff
lmfao
im just saying that saying that the mechE degree will cover what Enunciated wants to do is wrong
well you cant get a civil engineer job with a mech degree
like yeah u take CAD class and statics and deformables etc.
but that's missing the point
but they do overlap coursework wise quite abit
lmfao
I am a meche major with civilE friends and i know what the courses overlap is
it's not that similar
u are in high school
iv taken a few engr courses
iv also looked at the courses for me and civil
idk im just saying mech engr does overlap into civil
I am looking at the course program for civil at MSU it is not that similar
there's overlaps but it is not as simple as mechanical engineers can just do what civil engineers do
there's a lot of classes that are civil specific
ucla debt is so sad bro
How much harder is Berkeley to get into then Irvine? Seems kinda close kn terms of acceptance rate?
I rly want to goooo but 284k ug debt is crazy
When is Berkeley
Can it come out before the 30 th?
Nah they specifically like to release w the ivies because “public ivy” or whatnot
So highly unlikely
damn I didn't know davis was that high for oos
I was worrying for nothing
honestly I shoulda applied irvine
I mean like more you learn a tiny bit of multiple majors
And can still work in that industry
Whereas, if you do biomed, you can’t really go into civil
Yield
Also I’m not sure if these numbers are 100% accurate but they should be p close
alr
Did you end up getting in?
Like of course if you are 100% sure to do civil, then do civil
But if you are an undergrad, imho the best JOAT major is mechanical
Then just concentrate via a masters
ye
Awesome, congrats!!!!

🔫🔫
thanks
Believe
Oh wow didn't know they released those

how wld yall rank the ucs for cs
idk if y’all remember me and @strange plume
but we were just playing with y’all
while we did get into UCLA
I am not a CS major
our GPAs 3.96 and 3.92 (UW) respectively
Are u out of state
that's only possible at UCB
no I got waitlisted at ucla
For 10k 😊 /j
you didn't get the joke lmao
doesnt matter, she needs the money
so instead of being 500k in debt she'll be 400k in debt
!!
ong
I threw my loan into a student loan calculator and it said it’ll be 938k
LMFAOOO
Inaccurate but funny
Both
pls pls ask ur uncle
honestly you gotta start grinding for those med school scholarships now lmao
even interets free family is ebtter than borrowing from banks
now that we've been on a2c we gotta start putting in 10x effort with this shit
yeah I’m also gonna ask my parents again about the house
interest free loan is genuinely the best case scenario atp
orrr he pays for it outright
Idt that’ll happen
conversion rate is crazy remember lmao
they have the money but like it seems a lot more to them yk
5.3 mill rand lmfao
and like 15 rand is 1 loaf of very nice bread so idk just competitively it’ll feel like I’m asking for an insane amount
especially when stellenbosch/UCT are like 5k for 4 years and they’re the best schools
I WILL TRY
Lmfao is there a a2mc?
shoulda picked muir
ill help
dababy name change
as long as ERC and revelle are last, u should be fine
Muir and 6th are always the most coveted though
6th for the housing or ge's?
both
i looked at the ge's and it seems muir is easiest in general followed by warren but only for engineers
6th and 7th seem to have similar type of breadth based ges
year 6th 7th and 8th are all pretty similar overall
but 6th and 7th clearly outdo the others in terms of housing
is 8th gonna have the new towers?
so im told
yep
benz
too real
does ucsd have structural or civil engineering
it's sort of unusual to have such high dorms
I'm compiling my transfer list
after this quarter I'm gonna schedule an appointment with my advisor
like I haven't seen much others with housing this tall
ik it has structural engineering, one of my buddies does that
how tall will the towers be? i live on the 8th out of 10 floors of my dorm
what's the diff. btwn structural and civil
14 stories
looks possibly 16 or taller
view on top floors will go crazy
@limpid patrol hey ik ur planning on transferring out but did u like ur time at ucr? is it a nice campus, nice ppl, etc? i’m most likely going there
6th college is already crazy nice too
I doubt there is a college with much better housing
I loved it
nice campus nice ppl
seems like structural engineering is a more mathy and physicsy version of civil engineering
Structural engineering and civil engineering are two branches of engineering that are closely related, but they have different focuses.
Structural engineering is a branch of engineering that deals with the design, analysis, and construction of structures that support or resist loads. Structural engineers work on a wide range of structures, including buildings, bridges, towers, and tunnels. They use their knowledge of physics, mechanics, and materials science to design structures that are safe, durable, and functional. Structural engineers also assess the safety and integrity of existing structures, and make recommendations for repairs and upgrades.
Civil engineering, on the other hand, is a broader field that includes structural engineering as one of its sub-disciplines. Civil engineering focuses on the design, construction, and maintenance of the built environment, including infrastructure such as roads, bridges, airports, and water supply systems. Civil engineers also work on projects related to the environment, such as water and wastewater treatment, and they may also be involved in urban planning and land development.
In summary, structural engineering is a sub-discipline of civil engineering that specifically deals with the design and analysis of structures, while civil engineering is a broader field that encompasses many other areas, including structural engineering.
alr cool tyty
not as competitive as the other ECs but the professors are great at teaching
lets just say that if ucr offered civil e. I'd be staying
mhm
I have a really valid reason (IMHO) for planning to drop out and go to CC and transfer out though
yea i heard the professors r super nice
I'm going to go to CC for as long as I need to to get junior credits
i wish u the best of luck with getting where u wanna go
thanks
I'm scheduling an appointment w/ an advisor first before I do anything I'll regret though
ya smart. any particular school(s) u had in mind that has a good civil e program?
UC Irvine, CSU SLO, Cal Poly Pomona, San Diego State, UCLA, UC Berkeley (haha I said I wouldn't but I honestly would), USC, UCSD
oo yeah all of those r rlly good choices
i doubt it by triton day
everything is still under construction
they should be wrapping it up soon tho
but they also dont do dorm tours bc of privacy
damn
but no one's living in them lmao
I wish they had at least some official videos of 8th dorms so that I can decide whether to go to UCSD or not
they do have some teasers
are those the pictures you sent?
just look at pictures of 6th college
its identical
idk what the hell happened but yesterday my uci portal said congratulations and today it says ive been waitlisted
deadass
i got into sd so im happy
💀
but like
oh nice
go call em up on monday
alright
6th is so nice
"congratulations, you've been waitlisted!"
trust
thats not a thing
alr bet
ik I'm joking
no like
it had confetti and all
I got waitlisted at Davis last week, for Computer Science… would it help my case if I changed my major through emailing the admissions office/utilizing the additional comments
r u sure
so real
...
if you're being deadass then it's a major fuckup on their side
yea
be sure to contact them
email will go through
yea
dang what
accept to wl, that's fucking terrible
itll be a lil backlogged but theyll get to it
@tender elm do you recommend emailing the admissions office to appeal my waitlist decision? and regarding a major change?
appeal what
u wanna ask them to change it to an acceptance?
I heard from previous years people had an option to write an essay
is this for ucsd?
or UCD
bc UCD did have a loci type thing last year but they got rid of it this year
I wish I could appeal UCLA lmao
you can!
not for rejection I don't think
but the chances of it being overturned could be low
you can appeal if u have new and compelling info
not if it's for new grades or ECs
according to UCLA website: "High grades received in the senior year, recently acquired awards or additional extracurricular activities are not a basis for the reversal of a decision..."
oh well
gotta get to work 😭
I know a dude with a 3.7 GPA who got accepted to UCLA with not much extracurriculars
Admissions this year is all BS
damn
honestly I didn't think I would get accepted to any of the UCs tho
just grateful I'm not trapped in Ohio
which ones did you get accepted to?
Davis and SD
I haven't gotten accepted to any
you'll get Berk and SB
I hope
less hope, more guarantee
nah the cow is
at least you can milk it
got free refreshments all day on Davis
twinning because none of the UCs gave me aid (OOS)
same bro
honestly I wonder if Case western is more affordable at this point lmao
probably 😭
I got 27k scholarship from them, but I feel like they're trying to pull me in
i will only have to pay 10,000 and i think the cal grant covers it
OMG SAME
Bro same
I have no clue what to do 😭
I would rather go to UCD but the cost is so much better at Case
if I switch to instate though I think UCs would be less expensive
but who knows if I'll be able to switch residency
who cares about uci, you have ucsd
well I mean it's pretty bad if he got accepted and they changed it to waitlist accidentally
UCLA 71k
CWRU 52k
woah nicee
true, but if you are able to switch to instate UCLA would be 71k first year and then 40k the next 3
literally makes no sense
for a much nicer location
lucky
very hard to switch residency
It’s nearly impossible to switch to in state I checked
ye that's the problem
I think I'd be able to switch instate but idk if it's a guarantee
parents pay california taxes
wtf
hopefully! I heard Davis accepts a lot of people who are waitlisted.. UCSD on the other hand, I hope I end up getting accepted (my dream school)
you should have answered in state at the beginning if you might have qualified
is there really nothing u can send in for ucsd
well I personally am not instate
I'm oos
not sure about parents tho
oh
ye good luck def
You the same dude who was accepted to UCR?
idt ucsd considers loci
no
ucsd and ucsc
I was accepted to UCSC with the honors invite and the dean’s award, but I’ve been rejected/WL from every other UC so far - I’m an intl cs applicant. Is this just UC randomness or was my application a little weak?
tysm
possibly it's gpa based. i noticed ppl with high gpas getting those
and major
ucs are so random this year and what sucks about this whole thing is that berkeley is releasing dead last
berkeley being annoying
its like with all these waitlists and stuff, i wont know if they meant anything until berkeley releases
if i get waitlisted there then ucsd it is
it sucks bc I’ve lived in the US for 10+ years now but I’m still considered intl
they were the only ones that clutched up for me
wait how come?
are you on a visa?
I don’t have my gc yet, still on H4
Awww
I know some people like that too
they are Canadian citizens waiting for their greencard
That sucks I’m sorry about that
congrats on UCSD btw!
I got WL at UCI, UCLA, UCSC, Davis
like we already feel like we’re not enough, but this makes it feel SO much more out of our hands
Wl ucd
Yes exactly
Truly speaking there are just too many qualified people for them to take
that’s true
I thought I would at least get into 1 UC
exactly
U got ucsd
Have you considered appealing UCI?
Not really cuz I don't think I would get it overturned
Ik but that was one of many :((
I mean it wouldn’t hurt to try 🤷
i expected the unexpected but was surprised by the expected
If you achieved something significant since application it could actually work.
My science fair partner and I qualified for ISEF last year and he got rejected from UCI but appealed it
Didn't mean to reply
And it worked!
You can also mention extenuating circumstances.
It's all good tho
Jc ftw
It's j embarrassing tho
Could've done nothing in hs
And I still would've ended up at a jc
Same 😭
No I get it. That’s how I felt with Cal Poly Pomona
I didn’t check my portal for updates so I didn’t send some form and because of that, they just rejected me.
I feel bad for wasting my parents money on it and losing it for just being irresponsible.
is bio hard to get into at ucsb?
hey man, you got in UCSD!
tuesday i think
Bro sb pls
At least give me my alt sb
Pls
I cant take anymore rejections
it sucks being rejected and like 3 ppl i know in my school got into ucla 😭
same bro
cap
the process is so random. my friend got into all 3, ucsd, uci, and ucla and he wasn’t any different from us
I hope I get into SB (im tired of these waitlists)
so annoying fr
my decisions actually make sense which i was NOT anticipating
it's not random at all
ucsd accept, uci accept, ucla wl
that’s cap
i just wanted to get into uci so i could t do game design
did u get rejected or wl
since i got wl for uci, they're gonna ask for my 1st sem senior grades right?
no
Only Davis does that
ohh
ig for wl uci the only thing we can do is appeal right
ppl saying wednsday
no
u cannot appeal a wl
if u get rejected from wl
u can appeal that
no
and if you get rejected?
just submit ur intent to be on the wl
I wish UCs were more open to LOCIs
then find another place to go to
% to make it off ucd waitlidt?
is this the same nacho
Its so stupid how you just opt to be on the waitlist and have no other communication.
nah you can still appeal a rejection lmaoo 🤣
as 💀 🔫
That’s what I’m saying bro
u cannot appeal a rejection of ur appeal
Appeal is probably best for rejections.
But also UCI takes a ton of people of the waitlist.
its hella risky but make sure ur u rlly wanna do it if not then dont imo
There were like 7 seniors from my school that got off.
cause i want to go to uci
that’s not what I meant lol
idk if thats tru cuz isnt the admit rate for wl rlly low according to online sites
u asked here if i u get rejected from an appeal
I mean I’m just speaking from what I’ve seen
it varies by year
i say about 20% get off
yes
If you’re instate I bet chances off the WL are higher
Lucky for me lmao
But honestly, if Berkeley can clutch up in the end, I’d be the happiest person in the world.
how good is davis cs program?
man at this point im just trying to get not riverside
All the UCs have pretty good CS programs honestly
Bro
If you care about rank I’m not sure, but Davis super close to SFO, so I’m sure that helps
sameeee
Does UCSD allow appeals?
For rejects yea
fr gonna get that tour
What is ucsb cs acceptance rate?
Ong
I want to meet the Cat in the Hat
apparently its in single digits
Fuck my lfie
but dont take my word on that
Also, do UCSD students get any discounts when it comes to things like the zoo?
That would be cool
Where can I find UCSD stats from this year?
Did they post them online?
no clue but our cs department is very small compared to other schools
Nice pfp btw 🙂
What abt mech eng
😹
college of engineering has like 1500 undergrads out of around 23,000
I am curious
0 hoes
💀
There are too many of us out there when it comes to college admissions 😢
I heard its competitive
idk usually like 4.3 w gpa
I have 4.5 gpa
that came out
Rejected and waitlisted from everything
everything?
what does that mean?
Every uc that released except merced and riverside
yeah considering numbers went up like 20k for each UC
and I think they've also been overenrolling?
idk
Wait for SB AND UCB 🙏
ask the mushroom guy
I have a 4.3 W but a 4.0 UW and apparently in the top 3% of my class but that hasn’t stopped me from getting WL left and right 😖
mushroom guy knows all!
I got 3.96 uw
Who’s that
that is unfortunate
I am in the class of 2026
did 12 APs and got fked
@tender elm this is your cue
Exactly everyone is completely qualified
OHHH BENZ!
fingers crossed ig
Who knows what these people want
mind I ask where you are now
amazing person
for the wailist
Lmaoo
autocorrect kicking my ass
What major did you apply for?
What’s good
my heart breaks for you guys because throughout my entire hs career i will have done only 7 ap's
ICAM
Disciplinary action
Bro
I'm kms
basically
Sorry is that against the rules?
What
i only did 2 ape last year and 5 this year
but all honors
i'm sorry
that sounds really fucked
what were your safeties? are you eligible for merit aid?
3 last year 5 this ywae
Look at this sticker
Only 3 last year cuz I transferred schools and had new prereqs that I had to do
My last ap was full so I got on level for it
aw man
my safety was a fucking solid one: merit scholly at sdsu
got so pessimistic about uc's that i did the whole application
much care is needed
My safety us scu with deans scholly
solid
my safety was ucsc
my safety is Stanford
santa clara? that's a great school
It's $$$ af
even with scholly?
And I kinda wanna be further from home
Commuter cost is 65k a year
With scholarship it still 40k
shit, are you in the bay
UCs r random, so you could get rejected from a safety but get into a target
Yeah southwest San jose
I should of sold some and joined the cartel
damn my sincere apologies
Yeah
My school is the closest school next to the sweat district
Ama
Aka*
Los gatos and saratoga
when you apply to safeties you should also make sure they're affordable
got any cheap ones?
ball state university is still rolling
Found out the hard way
i got into ucsc but it said all ucs were reaches except sc
@unique shoal
man i wish i could hand you guys my uci acceptance and my cal poly acceptance if i get it
My counselor said UCI was my match school, UCD my safety
She lied 😭
i’m so pissed i didn’t get into uci
My counselor and everyone said ucsd was target for me
Everyone at my school was expecting me to get in
And I let em down :/
everyone thought i could get into ucla
well you got into UCSD, so it was wrong
but my major only accepted 40 ppl per year
I got matched for UCSD too 🙏
yes i’m glad it was
the pain of shattered expectations
same
Waitlisted tho
powell
lmao ty
i genuinely thought i couldn't crack ucsd, looking back that was kinda stupid bc i definitely had a chance but i bought into a2c too much and underestimated myself
UCSD slowly becoming a reach for everyone 😭
it’s so weird because all of my friends got into ucsd
Yeah I mean in general now
@vernal agate I heard ucs were rough at bell this year too
every single person in my class who i know applied got in
I mean typically cal poly is an easier safety though
which is literally like 5 ppl so far
Leigj feeder is berkeley
damn my closest buddies couldn't get it
even the vp of the robotics club of which i am president got wl'd
Not a ton of peeps there get in to the ucs for engineering
that’s so weird my friend had an f in calc last year and tons of c’s got waitlisted at cal poly and got into ucsd
inshallah this man will have a uc to attend
at this point
what the fuck
my other friend is in softball and no other clubs that i know of and got into ucsd
did he get an f on his transcript?
Holy Fuck
BRO SOME GIRL WHO HAD 2CS ABD 13BS GOT WAITLISTED IRVINE FOR SAME MAJOR AS ME
luck as a factor def grew
She in my class
my other friend is 16 at duel enrollment idk what extra curriculars and she got into ucsd
16?!
yeah i’m pretty sure it was on his transcript
I know of tons of peep that get into Berkeley but rejected cal poly
yeah she graduates early
There’s def luck involved for both 🤷♂️
that’s dope ngl
Is it bad that I haven't heard from cal poly yet
my other homie got into ucla and ucsd idk much abt her extracurriculars but i read her essays when we applied and they were great
denied from irvine tho
she wants to go to ucsd
Go Tritons lol
lmao it’s just ridiculous ppl in my class got in i thought i was special
Pls 🙏
i heard at UCSD you can literally walk onto the beach from campus
You’re not alone
I’m still waiting
I haven’t heard back either.
too
yes santa bárbara too
private beach
Most of my classmates haven’t either, including our Val.
it's legit, i live nearby and you just go down a hill or take the bus
kind of a longer walk though if you're not much of a walker
imma text the valedictorian rn to see where he got in
Who needs Northwestern when you’ve got UCs
Our val got in stanford but waitlisted davis
No fr I know a girl from last year
She’s going to Harvard
And she got WL at every UC
bffr
these colleges r trolls
Her grades weren’t great but she did a ton of advocacy stuff I think
except ucsd
literally
praise the triton gods
And Dr.Suess
forgot the gods name
my man
The Cat in the Hat knows all about that
@calm atlas lemme hide in ur suitcase
bet
I’ll sneak you into housing if I can get any
Hey guys, is anyone familiar with UC & what they consider a cali resident?
You need to have lived in California for a certain number of years I believe, and you have to be currently living here to be a resident
Sorry only non california residents say cali too lmao
...i say cali
uc's revoking my residency rn
We’ll get your ass
I don’t think that counts unfortunately :/
oh that's not my question, lmao, I was just responding to your cali comment
Oh whoops
I guess I’m the dumbass
I am wondering if my parents get an apartment now, and once the 366 day time period has passed, would I be considered a resident then? or are there other requirements
Cali is what my cousins in Canada say
so I pay in oos tution for the first year & in-state tution for the years following
I’m not an expert on this, but I think you can look that up for more detail
If it works that sounds like a good plan
anybody w experience transferring to a UC?
Alright thanks, I will email the admissions office to see if I can get an official answer
from a CC?
or from a 4 year
dm me if you want some info
a 4 year
cali
Y’all need to get it right
I am doing that
right now
didn't transfer yet
but I know the ins and outs
on transferring from 4 year to 4 year
From a CC to Cal?
fortnite
no
Califortnite
from 4 year
to another 4 year
I am already in a 4 year
but I am still transferring
To where?
are UCs accepting LOCIs this year?
like can you send them updates about your senior gradse if you were watilisted
I saw that shit too 😭
makes me wanna throw up and die
Do UCs normally send you stuff in the mail after you get in or is it just the portal acceptance letter?
I wish I got an email but I'm oos
do you go there
what major ya
microbio at UCSD and UCD
idk why I chose microbio but I did
idk if I should switch to regular just biology or not
What’s it like there?
Still trying to decide, haven’t committed yet
if you have any specific questions, feel free to dm! idk how to describe that though it reallly dpends per major, what clubs you're in, yk
i'd say in general student life is good
it's a public school so getting the classes you need can be a struggle
Ohh I see. I went in for bioengineering. Stem in general is probably pretty impacted right?
Thank you, btw!!
bioengineering is really hard
everyone i know in the major has switched out or works really hard
lol
Yikes lol
what's bioengineering about anyways?
most of the bioe people i know switched to meche
is it like engineering biomolecules and etc.?
just in terms of not wanting to go to grad school
not necessarily not liking bioe (the program is good here) but you do need grad school
meche, compe, and cs are a lot more applicable straight out of school which i think some ppl notice
so people switch to taht
but you can switch within engineering school pretty easily as long as you have like a 3.0 or something so if you decide you want to do that (even switch to cs) it's p easy
Is it easier to switch to cs already being in a stem major or still really difficult?
Oh that just answered my question lol
yeah
you could decide to switch to cs and just take cs classes and switch your third quarter i think
Thank you!! That’s really good to know
no 🤣
i think you need to wait to switch? you also only get one switch
Think I might end up doing that if I go
so you won't have priority for enrolling in cs classes
