Ok guys, I did a lot of research on that essay supplement from UCLA.

It is a good sign because only 6% of applicants get it. 2 readers will read your application and if they like you, they will put you in a separate pool of applicants. 10% of the applicants are in this pool, which means instead of 150,000 applicants as your competition, you have 15,000.
If they like you, then yeah. You get in. So it's a good sign :D

acceptance rate means more than applicant pool

the only thing it REALLY means is you’re getting judged based on more information than everyone else. for better or for worse. if your grades weren’t top notch but you are an excellent writer and had a great supplemental essay, you obviously have a better chance than you did before. inversely, if the strongest point of your application was the rigor of your coursework, and your essays are average, an additional, longer, and average essay will only make you appear less qualified
