I heard a lot of people for some reason got their decision rolled back due to SRAR problems in the Penn State Server and the reddit

Looks like similar situations are reported here

I think as the university comes off of break(first day of spring semester is the 9th), they will be able to process more admissions

However, it is sure to be much more competitive this year, and lots more may get a 2+2 campus option(2 yrs branch and 2 yrs main)

Last year they were offering iirc $8k discount to stay at a branch campus for your first year and then spend the rest of your three years are main campus

It was quite enticing but I am glad I did not choose it. I made a lot of friends and honestly it's been a maturing experience to be wholly independent in such a new and big environment

I'd think the people most likely to get 2+2 are Smeal Business majors and engineering majors. Very very competitive schools

Yep, AO that spoke to our group in HS told us to check LEAP off in the application because it makes you have a greater chance to be admitted

Maybe, but I can't guarantee anything. I'm in state for context. When aid came out they initially gave me a scholarship for low EFC and another separate select opportunity thru a diff application(I didn't get that one in the end). I initially applied for Penn state engineering scholarships thru the application but they didn't give me any until way after may 1st. I think later in the summer I got a couple minor scholarships from the engineering department, though.

So pretty much don't expect anything over 5k from the uni unless you get to schryers, and you should be applying for as many outside scholarships as u can @wanton badge

I think their applications are still open for rolling, however at this point it is very unlikely you will get accepted straight to Main Campus, aka you will have to do 2 years at a branch campus then do 2 years at main

Main campus is very competitive because there are a lot of applicants, and lots of decisions have released already, meaning in the grand scheme of things its kind of late in the application season for Penn state

But it also depends on major. Going for engineering, compsci, or business makes main campus a lot more competitive

I think you still have a shot, even more so if you choose the 2023 summer option, but also somewhat depends on major.

Last year they were offering 8k grants to some people to stay at a branch campus for a year because they over admitted

I would expect admissions to be more competitive this year as a result

The only scholarships I think recently admitted students can apply to is the department specific scholarships, eg. engineering scholarship application. I am in state and needed a lot of aid, I got a little bit before i accepted my offer and then later in the summer i got another thousand or two. I would highly advise applying to outside scholarships because that helped me as well
