this will lead to reduced populations and more active cities, it is the only way we can bring back an interesting, exciting and open endgame between 10 cities instead of just 2 which is so boring and party why so many long serving players have gone. As an original rail nation beta test player ive seen a lot of chamges but things have just got too repative and boring. Happy to chat woth a developer via email if any want to to fix the boring repetation that the game has become

I propose that for End Game,
only those who have set that city as their home city
be counter for population purposes and tonnage calculation.
After all they would be the only ones really hauling to that city.
If other players, who have other cities as their home city, haul to the city in question they would not get any credit for the home city win, and that is OK if they want a city other than their home city to win.
Can this be exploited, sure it could be, but there would be no reward for those exploiting it.
part of the problem is that because there are so many less.players than there used to be and there is now so much mpre mpney tham there used to be, when cities had to reach level 48+ to make the end game is was so much harder to do meaning less money around, less freehauling but the reason this has happened is because long serving players all started to lwave whenthe game turned into a freehauler paradise due to chamges to the end game formulae
if people were more restricted on movement the end games would become more competative again
I left the game 9 years ago because of the bullying and the demand that everyone play the same game. Coming back I'm glad to say I find less bullying ,,, but are we really still having the same argument about how the game should be played? The problem is not free haulers v city builders. I play on a server where the End Game was broken ... everyone with any experience in one city and a lot of confused, disheartened newer players with nowhere to play. The problem is not the freehaulers. If there were no freehaulers I think the city builders would find the game much harder to play. The problem is the city builders who work hard all round to put their city into the top 10 and keep it there then abandon it to play the end game in the 'chosen' city because they prefer the certainty of the win to the challenge of the competition. That is their choice to make. I would not stop them but there is more competition now than there was because all in one city is actually boring and the challenge of seeing how far you can get is fun.
and nurturing some of those disheartened newer players is the key to renewal.
