In Ark Survival Evolved, we have this Orbit mode using keyboard K. It will switch to zoomout mode, and the clever thing they use is in this mode mouse look is locked so when we have adjusted placement that we think is straight enough, we can switch to K mode and see if it clips with surrounding object. This is very very important for better building placement
