#PvE Combat is horrible

PvE Combat, like base building, in my opinion, needs a big overhaul. I can manage great with a polearm but I know that for most of my guild mate, it's a big downer. Especially having to fight all the time to get resources from mines and other locations. I played a lot in EA and was hoping that they would make it better with 1.0 but it's not.
To me, the base building system and the PvE combat are the two main things preventing this game from being insanely good.
At the moment I write this, I have over 500h in the game. Combat against most npcs are not a problem to me but that doesn't mean it's good. It only means that I understood a way to make it work.

Let me explain what is wrong with some examples:

  1. Enemies can insta-parry you and counter attack super fast.

  2. Enemies of your level outmatch you in damage, health, armor and it is a problem for lower level when you try to understand how combat works.

  3. All enemies have a ranged and a melee option. Throwing weapons always seem to hit unless you break line of sight with a tree or something else. Bow are a bit easier to dodge and crossbow can be tricky but doable if you are far enough. And because they do a lot of damage, it makes fight really unfun and unfair for players that are learning. It is discouraging to die all the time and not being able to understand what you do wrong.

  4. Because enemies are doing so much damage and have so much armor, you keep breaking gear (armor and weapons) at a crazy rate. I know it gets better with higher level equipment but it is still stupid how quick everything breaks. It's not a fun loop to have to carry around an extra set of armor and 4-5 main weapons around when you go fighting because they will break.

  5. Enemy pathing is horrible (not as horrible as when you have your horse on follow or when you whistle but it is still very bad).

  6. Enemy AI is just super simple, boring and uninspiring.

I understand that the main focus of this game is PvP and I feel like the combat is a lot better against other players but you still need to interact with NPCS all the time... So it really needs to be improved a lot.

Last point (on the new map):
Stop giving Crack to Crocodiles... I mean... wtf is this? They are faster than most low level horses and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. They are going to be your bane until you reach further west where you will meet with the Tigers on Speed and Crack... at this point, you will regrete your life.... you will call your mom, wondering why she gave birth to you. They are so fast that the game can't register their movement and you are dead, with your horse laying on top of you and probably all your guild members.

Thank you for reading once again. I truly love this game but it need major improvements in some areas. 🖤

i feel like agro needs to spread out and i also find that some times weapons are janky and hit no matter what even if you have a shield blocking the weapon from that direction it just goes through so i dont even bother with shields half the time even arrows go through shields

The combat is actually completely braindead in both pvp and pve.

#

People are sick and tired of it already, even the streamers calling it the worse part of the game

the 8 way combat is just plain bad, they should focuso n the 4 way combat and make it better, as well as do better vertical mouse movement detection for attacking, its hard to get up or down attacks. Archery should also be over the shoulder in 3rd person and not 2 metres above you

Last oasis was a joke I'll take polished bannerlord combat any day

I agree going more the bannerlord route where skill actually matters would be the best option

rooSip My long standing gripe on this game is the combat is okay and serviceable but wasted on PVE. And the main issue is that enemies dont scale skill wise based on level... A level 20 has the same ability to parry and so on as a level 60

Understand what? That you just talk 🐶 💩 because you have no other point to argue? Grow a backbone instead of trash talking if you got no legit point to make.

but dude what do you mean? It was mega-skilled. The more time you spent on training, the more you can did in fight. This line of self progress was perfectly visible. Equipment didn't metter so much, bcs if you were good fighter you could beat an opponent in full armor with just a rakes. Thanks to directional markers the combat system was accessible even for casuals. And the best of the best - chamber mechanic. It was fantastic.
