#Remove Building Collision on All Building Parts

This game could be more popular with players who enjoy building if some minor improvements were made. As it is now, I am unable to build simple structures that I can easily build in Ark Survival Evolved. It is impossible to place a Wooden Gate Frame next to a wall, because it is blocked by collision. If I wish to use foundations and walls to build a wood tower each side of my entrance, I am then unable to place a Gate Frame between them. You cannot place roof pieces over a ceiling ... why not? You can place a triangle ceiling on the top outside of a wooden wall, but not on the inside. I would like to place pillars on the corner of my buildings, but it seems the wall blocks the pillar.

make it a triangle then replace it with a square

Removing collision would lead to a ton of exploits and bugs probably. It works well enough let the devs focus on more important things

before making a suggestion go over 1k hours my dude in iron armor

Good idea for pve only though

And into the ground, please. The building in this game can be VERY frustrating.

Ugh. Why can I not pt this here? Please fix!

FML.

How do you screw this up.. every building system made is example of why

removing collision will lead into same issue that games like rust and conan exile has

#

a fuckton of glitch / exploit buildings

#

with 10105202150 walls stacked inside of each other

#

build better

restive cape
#

no it won't, surface normals can determine if you place a actor above or below a terrain. Thats just a pure skill issue.

flint mountain
#

i already have seen attempts of "roof"stacking - known bs from conan exile

#

i would agree on this if exploitters would get banned after reported

#

ah , also saw first iterations of wallstacking while traveling around

#

so for that reason alone no

restive cape
#

its a fixable issue even in those games, its just comes back to checking the surface normals before instatinating the placement. If the for example foundation is being placed on a terrain surface (which is easily detectable even with new additions in UE via PCG framework) then its allowed, anything below that is blocked.

As for stacking inside the grid system, its easily mitigated as well.

its been problem in rust for past 10 years

#

and its been "fixable"

#

for past 10 years

restive cape

Rust is in Unity and made by lazy ass devs. this is unreal

flint mountain
#

same problem is on conan

#

also on ark

#

those also has lazy devs

restive cape
#

O.o are you literally advocating that its "just not possible" ?

flint mountain
#

i dont care how you iterate it , its a system that will lead into a buggy build exploitation

#

i have seen it on several different games

restive cape
#

Ark = Worst then lazy
Funcom = Conan has been on skeleton support since before Siptar.

flint mountain
#

also i would agree removing the full colision , IF any

#

exploitter gets banned on a spot

#

then it has strong enough demerit , to not DO ANY exploiting

#

full key cancellation / account deletation and banning all component serials on your pc
