Im using Ortega Method, and i don't really want to learn CLL or other things.

Scramble: R' F' U2 F' R' F R2 U' F'

Reconstruction:

Orange bar on the bottom right

L' U L2 //first layer

U' R U R' U' R' F R F' //second layer

y' R2 U' R2' U R2 U' R2' U R2 //pbl?

also it's definitely possible to get faster with ortega, I'm sub-5 with ortega and there are plenty of people sub-4 with ortega (although you need very good inspection to get sub-4)

#

turning faster is definitely something to think about but what makes more of a difference at this speed imo is reducing pauses

also for this orange face you did z y2 L' U L2 but you could have done z R' U R2 which is better because it uses R moves instead of L moves

So I'd say your main two things to focus on at the moment are:

Predicting more in inspection

Once you've found the solution to first face, predict where the bar will end up or if you'll have diag or no bar - there are tips to recognise without tracking every sticker so ask me if you don't know them already. If you've predicted face and first layer state and still have time in inspection, try to predict the OLL. If you're struggling to predict first layer state in inspection then get more confident with that first. Practice with unlimited inspection but not predicting OLL until you are pretty confident predicting first layer state within inspection time, then you can start practicing OLL prediction with unlimited inspection

Better first face solutions

Try to find first face solutions using only <R,U,F> moves. All move sequences on 2x2 are equivalent to a sequence using only <R,U,F> so it's always possible to find one (tip: the back-left corner will be solved before you start because <R,U,F> does not affect it). I'm not sure if you usually do this because I've only seen one solve but yeah. Also try to find the shortest solution you can, this one was good (if you find one that's 4 moves and don't easily see a shorter one then just go with that to predict as much as you can. 5 moves can sometimes be the shortest, so don't try too hard to find shorter if you can't)

  1. with a bit of practice it's really easy to predict oll for short first face solutions, that would eliminate the big pause you had before oll
  2. use better fingertricks, you had a lot of regrips (particularly during oll but also during first face) that can pretty easily be avoided by using pinch moves
  3. never rotate to recognize pbl, by just looking at 2 sides you should be able to tell which case you have (if a layer has 2 adjacent stickers on the same side, there will be a bar on one of the sides adjacent to that side if that makes sense, and if not then it should be obvious whether it's solved or a diagonal swap)
btw the steps are called first face, oll, and pbl

just get a decent 2x2, even an mgc will work, and just do lbl and turn fast, there are many people who have gotten sub 3 averages with only lbl and I have gotten a sub 3.5 OFFICIAL average with just lbl with a crappy mgc

Stop rolling the cube like that. Try doing the algs flipped
