Well they work and help a lot with efficiency if done right, so I'd say its good advice lol

That's good, just make sure you're doing them the right way

Ideally you should not have a single pause in a slow solve, otherwise it just defeats the purpose

#

Focus on recognising+finding the pieces you need for the next step you're going to do while you're doing the current step

Then you're on the right track already
