I avg around 16 secs and my goal by the end of the year is sub 12 but for now its sub 15. Can you guys give me any tips on improvement?

Personally, I would’ve solved the cross by using D moves to insert the orange cross piece instead of using U moves, either could work fine tho

You need to work on your cross a lot, here it was an easy one so it didn’t impact the solve that much anyway, but for harder crosses you may have problems with planning if your solutions are not efficient

There is 2 type of cross pieces

#

Bad cross pieces and good cross pieces

#

The good cross pieces are the that in E layer the one in U layer while facing up and D layer while facing down
