what jperm did you use?
The scramble you provided is not the same as in the video
dont rotate so much in f2l
i saw at least 2 y2s too
hard to critique without a recon though
It is, but he scrambled it with blue front yellow top for some reason
So yeah, first thing: make sure you always scramble the cube with a standard orientation which is green front white top
I’m going to do a full critique in a moment
@lone quartz
You did an xcross, but it was very inefficient, and it looked like you were just finding ways to preserve it during the solve, not planning it before. Xcross is an advanced thing and you should only do it if you're sure you can plan it entirely in the inspection and perform quickly, otherwise it will probably slow you down actually.
A good cross I would probably do: y' U L2 B D' F' R
An xcross I found while experimenting but would never find in an actual solve (I'm not good at xcrosses): L2 D' L2 D R D2 F
Your F2L was really good, the only thing I noticed is that for the last pair you did an unnecessary rotation, as all the cases with a solved edge never require a rotation, you should learn ways to do this case from every angle. Nothing wrong about LL too.
Idk what about these fingertricks and lockups you talked about, everything seemed good in this solve, but also I can see it's a very good one with your ao5 PB being 20.99 so a more average solve would probably give more insight
*ok not a good cross I would probably do because I would do a yellow cross but let's say the best one I could find on white
@forest sleet When you are talking about the cross is the y' from his starting position or the scramble starting position?
he did 2 y2s in cross and more rotations in f2l, + the oll fingertricks didnt look that good
- its better to do antisune R U2' R' U' R U' R' or back sune R' U' R U' R' U2 R over lefty sune
- useless U moves before OLL
- it didnt look like you predicted auf, as you paused before you put the cube down
(yeah also a small thing try to put the cube on the mat before stopping the timer so you dont end up with a +2, +4 or a broken cube 💀)
I think you mean the rotations during the cross, I didn’t notice any y2s in F2L
really need to work on cross, its not just inserting pieces, you need to move other cross edges while solving others to reduce movecount (and dont rotate in cross)
Although if the video quality is good you can see most things when you slow it down
yeah
Yeah but also I think his cross is not so bad usually but here it was because he tried to preserve the d cross which led to inefficiency
*xcross
yeah xcrosses arent worth it if theyre that long
Got you
I predicted AUF
I was a bit nervous there ngl
I forgor that
if you already have a good look ahead try with more tps
@lean crypt has reached level 1. GG!
also yeah its not really an average solve if you average over 20
dont use regrips also do u2
That is actually a +2 because he put his cube on the timer
that doesnt matter
You only need to start with the cube on the mat, after the solve it could be on a timer as well, you could as well throw it to the other side of the room and, unless it breaks, the solve counts
nahh
either way it doesnt matter in this critique lol
