#Users No Longer Notified When Media is Available

I have my system set up in a way where users can request media through Seerr, and I get notified via a Discord channel. When the media becomes available, the user will get notified in that same Discord channel.

I believe it was around the time I switched from Overseerr to Seerr. I had basically done a clean reinstall, so nothing should really persist. I'd get notified as usual, but for some reason it is just not notifying the user when the media becomes available. As far as I'm aware, I didn't miss a setting.

  1. Each user has their Discord User ID attached to their Plex account in Seerr
  2. Each user has both Request Declined and Request Available set on their notification types
  3. For the Discord Agent, it has the correct Webhook URL, is enabled, and has 3 notification types: Request Pending Approval, Request Declined, and Request Available (I don't manually approve so that's not enabled. It worked before without it)

The setup is identical in every way, yet it still wont notify the users. The only errors I have I believe are unrelated, but I'll put an image of them just in case.

Any help or tips are appreciated!

To also note, the only user that has that "Auto request via watchlist" doesn't have a Discord account, and didn't cause any problems before. The feature doesn't work, but it's not a big deal for me to figure out as much as this one is

Need full logs.

#

Watchlist auto requsst will onky work provided your users have logged in once

Noted, I'll get that done then

#

I'll also send the logs in here, just one second

Ill check the logs when I get home in about 3hrs

Take all the time you need, I appreciate the help all the same!

#

Auto request instantly worked haha, thanks for the help on that

So could you fire a test notification from settings > notifications > discord first

torn pier
#

Works fine

#

It pings me just fine for requests, it just doesn't ping the user when the media becomes available

old flicker
#

You to request something

#

And when it gets added

#

You run the media scan in seerr settings > jobs&cache

#

Like recently added scan

#

Then when your item gets marked available

#

Then send me logs

#

So I can take a look at it

torn pier
#

Ask and ye shall receive

#

I requested a movie but I didn't get a ping for requesting it

#

Not sure if that's default behavior or not

old flicker
#

we skip those because it makes no sense to notify you that your request that you just made that is auto-approved was auto-approved

torn pier
#

LMAO

#

Makes sense to me

torn pier
#

Upon scanning, I got notified that it's available?

#

Now I'm REALLY lost

It sent the notif

#

To figure out why it doesnt send im gonna need logs of when it doesnt send

torn pier
#

I'll log into one of the accounts and redo this process then

torn pier
#

Wait, does the user get pinged only if the request was approved prior to it being available?

#

I'm not sure if that changed with the release of Seerr, but this wasn't the case before

old flicker
old flicker
#

That always existed

torn pier
old flicker
#

But in previous releases it wasnt caught

#

Because it was even more broken

old flicker
#

In the current version

torn pier
#

Ohhhh I see

#

Wait so is this how it's meant to be, or is being notified without pre-approval meant to be intentional as well?

#

I'm a bit lost haha

old flicker
#

Previous versions the reason it worked wasnt because the logic allowed for it but simply because there was a race condition bug that just bypassed this. It was intentional to skip notifying if an item became available pre-approval (in all previous versions)

old flicker
#

To allow notifying even if not pre-approved

torn pier
#

OHHHHH

#

Okay okay makes sense

#

I hope it becomes an actual feature then, I'm too used to just going straight to getting the media via Sonarr/Radarr rather than having to accept it via Seerr then continuing to do the same thing

old flicker
#

Not a feature request

#

With a planned for 3.2.0

#

Which means it is coming in next version

torn pier
#

Alright perfect then!

#

I was wondering for a while why the sudden switch, but I'm glad it's planned

#

Thank you for your help brother :)

And after some discussions (mostly with myself lmfao) we decided it makes more sense to notify anyways
