Just made the whole jellyseerr+overseerr migration thinking it was.. is this something planned yet ?
Yes
Youll need to migrate anyways. Jellyseerr and overseerr is no longer maintained
Yeah sure, but I could keep my overseerr setup aside for Plex User until the feature release :D
Thanks for your work anyway!!
No
Overseerr is unmaintained
And deprecated
And uses very outdated dependencies
That have several security vulnerabilities
I would recommend migrating overseerr -> seerr
Even for your plex users
Any idea when we could have both? I migrated thinking I could add Plex and Jellyfin to Seerr. I want to have the link in Seerr when looking a movie to be able to play it on both platform.
I use Plex to look content and I watch using Plex or Jellyfin, but Jellyfin language settings are better especially for casting to chromecast and Jellyfin has less image downgrade, but the movie search in it is horrible compared to Plex.
I can't wait to add both to Seerr, any ETA or approximative quarter/year?
Cant give an eta because we are all volunteers working on our free time
Its on our roadmap
Good, will it have an option to convert user from Plex to a local user linked with Plex? To be able to login with local and both account later
You dont have to do that
Your plex user is already a local login user
All media server accounts are also a local login account
It doesn't work like that in my instance. My admin account (ID 1) was made with Plex credentials and can't log without Plex. I must use Plex to login. Even changing my account password doesn't seems to work arounf that.
Do you have an idea on how I can login locally? Maybe using DB Browser to look and change in the DB?
Admin accounts
Need to set the password
In profile settings
This is done as a security feature
You dont change db
You change password normally
This has always been a thing since the birth of overseerr
Or maybe I forgot my previous password, because Seerr always said that it was changed successfully (even when the actual password is wrong). But it doesn't work to login with the new password.
That's why I think to change it in the DB because I can't login otherwise.
Or maybe I can remove the password in the DB? (Because I have no idea what else to do there to enable login without Plex...)
You need to use email and password not username. Whats the error you get
I was using the username, that's why. Thanks!
Yes this one caught me out too. Its very misleading because it says username (so one tries with the username that they created a local account with) - BUT you have to use your email address to login as a local user.
Its already fixed
The reason it was there was due to a design oversight.
is there a pull request that we can track?
+1
