Did you make sure your port foward is correct?
Yeah so my Ip address on the local machine and the port number
Is there a way I can share my screen or something so you could see what I did wrong
Maybe someone else can but I currently cannot
I would suggest you make sure you can access overseerr on another computer/device on your network by going to IP:5055
So I am able to do that. I am connected to my WiFi on my phone for example. IP:5055 and it works
And I have a domain so that I can use it outside of my network
If my friends/family want to use it
But that domain doesn’t work and the Ip address
ok then you need to check your port forward on your router to make sure it is setup correctly.
Then try your EXTERNALIP:5055 on your phone via cellular
try without the domain you set up
if the external IP and port work then you need to make sure your dnamic DNS is being updated corectly with the external IP that you have
So it doesn’t work when I try to use my phone via cellular
But my computer works
Not sure what’s going on
why is the internal port 5054?
it would be the same that you use internally. So if your internal/wifi works with IP:5055 then that is what you have to use
secondly. not super important but its TCP only not TCP and UDP
Okay did those
I’ll try again and see if it works
So my WiFi works
But outside it doesn’t
are you sure you are using your external IP?
it will not start with 192 typically
Do not show us your external IP
How can I find my external Ip
this website should say what you IP is. https://whatismyipaddress.com/
make sure you go to it from your wifi first
Okay so now I know what my external Ip address is
Do I have to port forward it? What should I do now?
Do I put it in overseerrr
on cellular try EXTERNALIP:5055
you should have already done the port forward.
Isnt that what you showed above?
That seemed correct to me
other than internal and external port needs to be 5055
Okay it is working and no I did not port forward the external Ip address. I port forward my local Ip address
You should not port forward the extenral IP
the act of port forwarding is saying... Take this port from x computer and listen for traffic on my external IP on the port configured.
when you get traffic on your external IP on that port your router will know to forward it to your computer on the same port
I think you can figure those things out now that you know that your external access is working
also cloudflare setup is prob not something we can help you with in this support channel unless someone else comes around that knows exactly what to do.
So just asking how would you get the domain and traffic it through the Ip address
Like what guideline should I follow
What would you recommend
Something I could follow
Google argo tunnel cloudflare, there are many tutorials on Youtube
Basically you setup a tunnel through cloudflare, and on cloudflares website you tell it that https://yourdomain.com is associated to localhost:5055 then when you access yourdomain.com it'll take you to port 5055 on your PC that you set the argo tunnel up on
Hey @junior oracle so I tried that
And it doesn’t work not sure what I’m doing wrong?
I can see it works, I've accessed the website, though if you get rid of the subdomain "media" it'll work on instead at the moment it's working on
You can setup rules on cloudflare too, to disallow anyone from a certain country to access, just for added security, assuming no one outside of your country is going to be accessing your server
Thank you so much everyone. I really appreciate the help. Thank you so much
