#Overseer wont load anymore on LGTV browser.

Overseerr isn't designed to be used on TVs, but we also haven't really made many changes that would break this I think?
You don't seem to be using the official images (sctx/overseerr). ls278 doesn't really mean anything here, please try the official images
I know it isnt. But its very handy that way. And it always worked.
The latest version still works. The develop does not.
Even with sctx/overseerr.
I know LG doesnt update their browsers with firmware updates. So mine is stuck at chromium 79. TV is 2021 webos 6.3.2.
A while ago the same problem ocured with Sonarr https://github.com/Sonarr/Sonarr/issues/5363
Looking at the difference between the latest and develop builds, there doesn't seem to be anything there that would result in you not being able to use it on TV 👀
Just to confirm something though, can you try with the sctx/overseerr:2520d8f739abfde608f3ef66a9fbe6b7b5c6647a image?
I can confirm that this version works a bit better. Now it loads and shows covers on the discover tab. But stil not when i go to movies or tv shows. On pc and phone all versions work fine.
I gues Version "dd00e48f59054b44bef6b32a2c169e59f6175051" introduces the 2 new options "Movies" and "Series" And those 2 wont show covers but keep flashing. So one problem is the new function. (The discover page works with the version you gave me and so is this version.)
Ahh I see
Unfortunately, the changes in the one I mentioned are from 3rd party packages being updated, so there's little we can do there
What do you mean with 3rth party? I only installed Overseerr on Docker.
I narrowed it down to the version where it goes wrong.
This version is where the discover tab spinning begins :Version "sctx/overseerr:f5191aded680357522a65bbdcc40d162b8fbf594"
All versions BEFORE that version, are showing covers on the discover tab perfectly.
And after version : "sctx/overseerr:dd00e48f59054b44bef6b32a2c169e59f6175051" Overseerr has 2 new options "Movies" "Series" Those 2 options never worked on the TV. They keep flashing the placeholders for the covers.
All versions and options work fine on PC and Mobile.
My bad, not 3rd party. Just dependencies for Overseerr
Looks like that's the big discover overhaul + the discover filters. From a quick look, I don't see anything that jumps out at me that would make the UI not load on an old browser, but unfortunately I don't have enough time to go dig in :/
Oke to bad. I stick with an old version then for now. The fact that we can do this on a tv made it awesome. Just open the browser and request. Lots of people i know do this. I hope someone will look into this. It will be missed. Oh and i tried to see if there where any logs to see if there was an error somewhere. But thats not the case.
For now we solved the problem by installing a 2nd Overseerr. 1 for tvs and one latest for all other devices. Still hoping this will be fixed one day.
I tried Overseerr on an older version of Chromium on Windows. To see if its the TV or the browser. And it does not work there either. I tried version 79 cause my tv has 79. So its not the tv but Oveerseerr does not work on older (Chromium) browsers.
We don’t develop Overseerr for older browsers. We develop on whatever is the latest. It’s hard for us to test on outdated browsers and we have no plans to do so.
Thats to bad. TV browsers almost never get updates. That means you are stuck with the browser version it came with. And no possibility to update. There is nothing more handy then Overseerr on the TV, no phone or pc needed. I know many people who use it that way. A while back Sonarr had the same problem. Im glad they fixed that.
We never designed Overseerr to run on TV browsers. Its nice that it worked, but we dont have the resources to invest in fixing older browsers.
