Ffa is a good show case of why thevwg should not be allowed to shield - and by proxy- HEAL herself....

Windguard is actually really popular, especially among players with high play time.
She's versatile and has pretty high dps,crowd control, stun and survivability as is....she does take more time to get the hang of
And i agree the mechanics to shield/heal an ally could be improved bc the targetting is wonky

But allowing her to heal herself and shield herself, without an ally input, every 10 seconds, would be wretched

you have smoke that blinds enemies, disorients them, and deals damage to them. if utilized correctly you can even trap them in it and kill them

(using it before you enter a wind tunnel for one. or as you go up geysers)

you have blast, wich is hard to master, but is the most HATED ability to be hit by in game for a reason. it gets players STUCK on things for way too long

you have a free sprint across a map of your choice that takes no stamina whatsoever

i see windguards literally all the time...to the point i complain rather frequently that my map is greened out

On the topic of apparently not playing WG enough to know she doesn't need a buff;

76h because I adapt to my team's needs. I'm not a WG main but I do play her often. I will reuiterate though that WG is meta in Gates and always has been, even after she was nerfed at least 2 other times due to smoke's radius being a problem (despite this nerf, smoke is still a hassle to play against if no one runs bust or blast.)

WG being able to shield herself would utterly break other modes like Carnage, where shield cycling was already a massive issue that allowed good players to be utterly unkillable to the point where I do recall half the shields were removed from the maps.

FFA is a very good example as well, as I've won top of the leaderboard by just self-shielding and staying alive with WG + Smoke.

The devs might be bad at balancing the game, but buffing WG would be arguably worse - as the othyer classes would somehow need to compensate for her ability to completely heal her entire health bar.

but the only thing I can say about the WG is since the 5th classes release, we see less WG in matches because the thornweaver can fart too. Before that, WG was takken for the smoke as she was usefull for heal. Now, that she may have become less strong than the other classes is another issue of the game that concerns the balance, one of the big issues that this game accumulates. As far as I'm concerned, I think that simply limiting the number of class types per team (no longer having 3 thornweavers in the same team for example) would solve a lot of problems. All MOBAs and PvP games do it and since 4v4 and 5th class, there's no excuse to implement this mechanism that I deem necessary.
