I wish they'd tell us what we can and can't put in a suggestion post
nvm i hate you all. hope the game dies I guess
I spent a god awful amount of time on it too, I genuinely wanted to post that idea there, but nvm I guess.....Awful, terrible
i didnt say pay to win or anything like that
dynod
stupid
it contained too many dashes
god forbid i try to make an ORGANIZED POST EASIER to READ
god. I hate this place....
Im so upset bc It was a genuine post.....that i tried to word as best as i could in what little emotion of hope i had left for this game
whatever.....gonna go cry about it I guess. They can keep flailing and failing and let the game die if this is how they want to monitor FEEDBACK
[from Higurehige#6004 quote]
Because this game does need money to run whether we like it or not.
essentially: Abilities aren't player progression.
They're a neat concept! They can be exciting and bring a new flavor to the class you wish to play, but it isn't progression. Fighting people who have the abilities when you don't is a disadvantage that does not make grinding COUNTLESS HOURS of hard games worth it.
Making people actively pay for those abilities - with real money- because the price of coins is too steep to farm - does not come off in good faith - at all.
However
We love our cosmetics.
the cosmetics are your strong point.
not new abilities
Cosmetics.
A majority of us watch the shop eagerly for new items, because we crave customization. We crave interaction. We crave Dragons.
Adding new abilities to the game, when you already struggle to keep up with balancing/fixing problems with currently existing ones, is sure to shoot you in the foot later on. You do not have the team or time to consistently keep up with these things. This is something I feel is true based on months we go without a single bug fix - even if it's a game breaker.
I suggest you spend more time adding new cosmetics to the shop - as that is what many people play games for these days. It's why people love fortnite, and why people love warframe...We love cosmetics.
Cosmetics can include: **:
-more dragon eggs
-Dragon/rider emotes (petting animation as an example) That can play out in home screen/match load out screen/On podium screen or even the Player highlight screen.
-Armor (I advise making the community you have more active in helping you with designs/colors if needed. We're free labor)
-More titles
-more qoutes
-more icons/banners/flags
-More rider customization: more hair options (with hood/without, too), more scars/tattoos/paints so on
-voice lines? maybe? for lead on podium and Highlighted players?
(hit post limit, one moment)
there you go, you can continue
where did you even pull that from and why didnt it dyno you.....
maybe later. I'm upset now.....
brain full of bees now
but thank you, lythras
I had much more to say, but my train of thought got derailed with the automatic deletion of the original post....And with it went my mood, so anyway....
I feel if you guys prioritized cosmetics over a new class/new abilities, and worked on revamping the shop entirely, you may be able to turn things around, monetary wise.
Obvs I feel there should be options for most things to be bought with coins or gems -via player choice, regardless of how grindy it might be - but it'd be neat to see these things in battle passes, loot chests, as rewards for ranks in pve or pvp as well.
I could be wrong, obvs, and I can't just tell you to halt all progress on what you have worked up to currently already, but maybe, if times willing, or things pan out differently, you could try these things out?
Players love cosmetics. it's a simple fact of any game you look at.
Smite. Primal carnage. Fornite, Warframe, and so many other games, make bank purely on cosmetics alone....You can do better than paywalling abilities.
And by paywalling - i mean making something that should be fun, into a hard choice between spending EXTREMELY hard earned coins on an ability that may be meta/op/interesting, vs spending it on a dragon or armor set they want. Bc, as of now, the silver you earn per match is horrid. it isn't worth the grind for hardly any of us....At least make earned silver feel worth our time invested in the game?
To add a few things to the topic of discussion,
I highly recommend the devs look into free to play models seen in Guild Wars 2 and Warframe. Both of which, free to play games, but never did I ever feel like I had to spend money. I have dropped more money than I'd like to admit on both because I not only love the gameplay, but the games do not make me feel like I have to pay. In fact, in the case of Guild Wars, you can grind out gold to exchange for gems. I never do because, well, I'd rather support the game.
However... first impression of this game within the first few hours, I do not want to spend $20 to have to get a single skin. $5, sure, and $20 I'd be willing to spend for a whole pack of skins. But even though you don't technically have to buy anything, I feel like I have to buy them with no alternatives, and that just pushes me away.
We can talk about the gameplay and the fixes all day long, but if this game is dying, I bet my money it's on the monetization. I recommend decreasing prices and rethinking battle passes; this is my first encounter with a battle pass and I am very turned off by it already, I don't think it's a good long-term solution, especially for the kind of crowd you'd be attracting to the game.
Thanks for coming to my ted talk XD TL;DR: Please look at Guild Wars 2 and Warframe at minimum; both of those games have been out for more than a decade, so clearly they're doing something right :D
I suppose there's one other thing to mention;
If it's your publisher holding you back, I fully understand. We're seeing the damage that a shitty publisher can do to a wonderful game with KSP 2, so sometimes the monetization is out of your hands. I do believe though, with enough persuasion, perhaps they can change their mind if they're willing to try something new. Or if given enough evidence in the form of "This will make us more money because X, Y, and Z", perhaps that'll change their minds 😌
