so I understand how u got min and max but
To get the smallest value of fita is when
Sin(x - 1.107) = -1
Why not ((sin(x-1.107))^2 = -1
I know a square cant be negative but doesn’t removing the x^2 affect it?

we ignore the x²

Why tho

two things:

#

it would give you a complex number in this if you included the squared, and complex trig is most certainly harder to do lol

#

additionally, the outcome would be the same, so for simplification, we just ignore

#

theres probably a better reason for it but thats what i got taught at a level
