u cant do that since x-2 needs to be a factor of 3x- 2

if u had x^2 - 4 /x -2 Then you can simplify

since x^2 - 4 is a factor of x-2

#

x^2 - 4 can be written as (x-2)(X+2) / x-2

#

x-2 cancels out

so its x+2
