Find the maximum value of 5 + 2sin(x+30) and the corresponding x value

normally i would know how to do this but the addition of 5 is messing me up a little, would i minus the 5 from both sides? doing so would leave a solution that isnt possible in that graph

ignore the 5 for now

#

what's the max value of sin(x+30)

foggy field
#

2

oak mango
#

thats the max of 2sin(x+30) but yeah

#

now the 5 is just pushing the graph up by 5 units

#

so the max value is 7

ik but i dont know how to solve it mathematically like on paper

#

idk how to explain it very well

oak mango
#

there isnt rly any working

#

i mean you can draw the graph if you want, but thats a waste of time

#

you can just write the max value down

foggy field
#

the co ordinate would be 7, 60 right?

#

i mean 60, 7

oh

#

i didnt see the 2nd part of ur q

so yeah the max occurs at 7 and you wanna find the value of x so that if you sub it back into 5 + 2sin(x+30), you get 7

#

7 = 5 + 2sin(x+30)

foggy field
#

oh right

#

i was equating 5 + 2sin(x+30) to 2

#

maybe thats what was messing me up

oak mango
#

yeah

thanks
