what ever the gradient of the tangent is at P
put that equal to the dy/dx
eg if the gradient at p was 2 then dy/dx = 2
then manipulate it and find for x
and plug in the x to the original equation to get y coordinate
essentially u get the gradient you got for P and equate it to ur derivative. then solve the new quadratic and you will get ur value for x to be 3 and plug this into the equation of the curve
