this guy drew a venn diagram for this question. How can he draw this if it isn't independant.

0.5 x 0.5 = 0.25
not 0.4

he just used the fact that P(A n B) = 0.4 --> that goes in the intersection

then the probability of A in total is 0.5, so the rest of the circle must be 0.1

and likewise for B

then for the outside of the circles, they uwed the fact that the probabilities must all add to 1
