x= a is a vertical line
so you want a vertical line that intersects the circle twice
consider the edge of the circles
surely there are infinite possibilites
no
well yes
but the region for a is bounded
consider lines from -8 to 8
what does that mean?
are you familiar with what a set of values means
the region of values does not go to any infinities
nah i dont know what that means
i thought it did because x=a goes up and down to inf and -inf
this is not the same
the answer is -8<a<8
Wy not root 8
so set of values is LIKE domain, but the line CAN go further, but then it doesnt satisfy whatever is wanted?
is this maths gsce?
