sum of c does not equal 1
although i dont think it matters
a probability cant be negative lol
Why not? since it's the given possibilities
surely you consider C only
X can be negative though
how
Because, divide neg by neg = pos
and its all in terms of x
so the values will have the same polarity (numerator and denominator)
the venn diagram isnt showing probability itself though. it is showing a number of a thing, the probability is when you divide BnA'nC by C
i think
the parts of the venn diagram are still labelled probabilities
but then you'd be dividing a probability by a probabiliry
that’s fine lol
if we couldnt do that maths would have a big problem
Okay, so venn diagram numbers MUST ALWAYS BE POSITIVE?
lol
yes
unless its
giving you like the actual elements
in each set
otherwise they dont even have to be numbers
How do you know if it is giving you actual elements or number of elements
actual elements means each one is listed one by one in the venn diagram
so a might be “frog, bird, apple”
I often see numbers as elements
Like 'multiples of 9'
but it doesnt tell you thats what it is. so how do you know if it is n(elements) or elements
the question will tell you somehow
i think if we assume that the venn diagram includes probabilities we can say that they all add up to one. this q needs a little more context tho
if this comes up, im finished especially venn diagrams i hate them
fun question
