It makes sense until u got ur answer

2 x -0.5 = -1

-1 - 1 = -2

Left hand side now equal to right hand side

No I just managed to realise it was -0.5

But that too works

3^(2x-1)= 3^(-2)
2x-1= -2
2x= -1
X=-1/2

the answer is 1/2 becasue on the left side it’s 2x-1 so on the right it becomes positive 2x= 1 then x = 1/2
