its hard to see but this is why
you’re finding the angle i labelled theta
in order to find the angle between the line and the plane, you want to use that little right angled triangle that you can make with the normal, line, and plane
i tried to label that right angle on the diagram
so in order to do that, you need to do 180-theta to get the top angle of the triangle
then 90- that angle to find the anfle between the line and plane
which gives us theta-90 which is the answer
ahhh I see now, this is a similar question to one in the textbook, I've never had it in context before which is probably why I was confused
