How do you work this out?

so for part a:
-figure out an expression for angle C in terms of theta by using angles in a triangle sum to 180
-use the sine rule with sides AB and AC then rearrange to make AC the subject and simplify

#

for part b:
-use your small angle approximations for sin(theta) and cos(theta), which i’ll type below, then simplify

What would you do from here?

hmm

#

id say to write what sin(3pi/4) actually is

#

then use the sine addition formula for the denominator

#

then simplify
