child is x
Robyn is x+28
x+28+1=3(x+1)
x+29=3x+3
29-3=3x-x
26=2x
x=13
Do you understand @tulip roost?
@neon crystal so whats the age of robyn
so the age of Robyn is 42 now
Sorry I missed this part out
Thanks for reminding me @past pendant
np
how
because in one year time the child will be 14
so 14+28=42
42 years old
It's fine everyone makes mistakes
and we assume that robyn doesnt age
?
yh sorry my bad
yh
ur smarter than some of the ppl in my class lol
i just asked my friend to do it and he couldnt ðŸ˜
oh ok
lmao
yes thank you
lol i totally wasn't sat working out thsi question by trial and error insteas of using algebra
can yall help me with 2 more question
i have 2 question left to finish this homework and it's hard
yes go ahead
Use the diagram and see where they overlap, find x and y
Basically it's where the two lines overlap
Look for x by going up
And y is the horizontal bit
this is where they overlap right?
With the second bit subsitute the numbers Into the equation 1/4x+5 and the other one
Join the points together
Se3 where they overlap
*See
And find x and y
can you do it please it just impossible for me
i don't get anything of this stuff and normally you learn this in year 10 or 11
defo not in year 9
You start simulations equations in the year 9 syllabus, the course begins in year 9
i didn't start it
Plotting graphs from a given equation is a year 7 skill
Oh right.
can you plot it for me please?
i just need those 2 question and i'm done with this homework
x = -2
y = 4.5
If you substitute those values in theh are the same for both questions so the answer is correct
So x = -2, y = 4.5
Done
I got it but i was playing roblox at the same time so i was just a bit lost ðŸ˜
yo bro
for the question about robyn and his child the answer is 13?
ye
it says it's wrong
hmmm
Try
@tulip roost Show me it saying its wrong
Cause i just rechecked thw working out and it’s correct
If u substitute x
into the equation
x+28+1=3(x+1)
13 + 28 + 1 = 3(13 + 1)
42 = 42
Bro it shod be correct
??
@neon crystal the thing is probably buggin out idk
dam
But it was after a year lol
ah
you ok pal?
I think the thing was just bugging
Dude look
x+28 when x = 13
She’s 28 yrs older bro
if x is 13 then she’s gonna be 41
that’s why u add the additional 1
to signifiy that both have aged one year
so when you get x from the equation
it’s 13
well according to that 42 is wrong sooo
and when you reinput x into the equation
look
13 + 28 + 1 = 3(13 + 1)
42 = 42
so
yh
dunno man
the thing is wrong
