If it’s a multiple this means that it’s parallel

t-1=t^2-1
T^2-t=0
t(t-1)=0
T=0 T=1

2t+1=2t^2+3t+1
2t^2+t=0
t(2t+1)=0
T=0 satisfies both therefore t=0
