@pure thicket

#

should I stop this ?

pure thicket
#

let ti finish that but if i doesnt find anyting ou ned to stop nd turn the pc off

spice sable
#

and what's the next steps , I'm ready to follow in right footsteps

pure thicket
#

and then look u exactly what files you need to searc for in photorec

spice sable
#

I need pictures and videos , else doesn't matter much

pure thicket
#

well... not to get any hope up, but because of how long you had it powered on doing that scan finding those dovect files (which are likely not realy files but fragments now or "phantoms") your files are likely already gone

spice sable
#

1 more thing

pure thicket
#

if by some miracle you could get your original hdd back, and hte person didnt use it yet. you can recover from that

spice sable
#

the guy I sold SSD to , I told him that if he can , can he recover them from thhat SSD ?

pure thicket
#

oh ssd

spice sable
#

I formated that disk as well but with quick wipe

pure thicket
#

yeah.... no... your files are gone

#

never. store. on ssds

#

ssds are not for any kind of long term storage

spice sable
#

damn I didn't know that :/

#

I know

#

I had it just freshly transfered from my phone

pure thicket
#

it's why i keep telling people that buying those large ssds is wasting money

spice sable
#

because it was filling up

#

it was 512gb ssd

pure thicket
#

it's why hdd, even though they became unpopular by tech media and gamers, are still incredibly important

spice sable
#

I have HDD that we store family pics and vids

#

but didn't have time to transfer them

pure thicket
#

you should always have multiple back ups and on different media types if possible and in multipe locations

spice sable
#

I reset my phone

#

can I somehow get pics on phone back ?>

pure thicket
#

did you keep anything in cloud storage?

spice sable
#

some of yeah but mostly on phone storage

#

Recuva was able to recover these but they are corrupted sadly

#

some of my work

#

TestDisk+PhotoRec recovered this

#

like 10K of folders with 1000 files in each folder

#

that are Dovecot format

pure thicket
#

unless anyone of those files are large enough to look like actual files, you most likely have folders full of file fragments that is pretty much the same as encrypted files and unrecoverable

#

let this be a lesson about data storage

spice sable
#

yeah but I'm missing 5+ years of pictures/vids memories

pure thicket
#

never rely on a single point. always have at least 1 back up, and never leave another drive you dont intend to do anything with during an os install, in he pc when doing the os insall

#

wht yu need to do is get that ssd disconnectd from pwer if you ddnt already

#

you will need some program to try to analyse the files you did recover

#

and you might need another drive to write to for this process

spice sable
#

yeah I might just say fuck it then :/

#

how slim the chances are

#

I'm just wasting time

pure thicket
#

well like i said, if any of those files are large enough in size to be photos or videos, you have a chance still

spice sable
#

doesn't sort by size

#

same shit in all folders

#

I'll wait for this TestDisk and if this doesn't do shit I'll have to forget this

#

ARAARAT

#

AYPOO

#

AYOOOOOOOOOOO

#

๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

#

I'm not so retarded after all

#

I DID HAVE IT SAVED ON SD CARD

pure thicket
#

is it everythig though?

spice sable
#

YES

#

๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

pure thicket
#

how many gb of files are you looking for

#

just in case it wasnt evrything

spice sable
#

it was around 30GB+

pure thicket
#

how many GB do all those recovery folders hold

spice sable
#

unplugged the shit out of that SD keeping it on my neck

#

fuck them folders I'm so happy

#

but it's ALOT

#

if you are asking about those recovered files

pure thicket
#

there are scripts and stuff you can use to check all the file sizes in every folder. just incase you still need to attempt a recovery

#

unless you actually copied it all to the SD card

spice sable
#

no no

#

I mean I found out I had SD card that I had first copy made

#

I had it stored as you said

#

before all of this

#

on separate SD card
