My PC blue screens after running for about 2-3 minutes. The problem just started this morning after booting it up. It has been blue screening randomly as of the last few months but maybe once every week/other week. I did install a Windows Update last night but I can't get the PC to stay on long enough to try and maybe reinstall it or roll it back.
I've only managed to do a Windows Memory Diagnostic which came back with nothing.
(Old build)

Specs:

  • CPU: Intel Core i5-11600K
  • CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken Z73
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte Z590 UD AC
  • RAM: Antec Memory KATANA 8gb-DDR4 (x2)
  • Storage: MSI Spatium M480 PRO
  • GPU: MSI RTX 3080 Ventus 3X 10G OC
  • Power Supply: Corsair RM850
  • Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow

(Turns out it was my stupid antivirus somehow messing with the files of the Windows Update. Goodbye BitDefender)

It's telling you what's wrong just Google the error code..

how long ago did you get or build the pc?

#

the issue is or could be unstable ram settings or faulty ram as well as possible corrupted OS files from the constant crashing

#

if you enabled xmp, the settings may be unstable. if you recently built the system, you may have put the modules in the wrong slots from the recommended in the motherboard manual which is usually slots A2/B2 for 2 modules

I built it back in Sep of 2021 and I do have xmp enabled but it never caused issues before. I did manage to fix my issue though, turns out it was my OS files and it was Bitdefender causing it. Not sure about the weekly bluescreens, that could be a separate issue but I appreciate the help 👍

how did you fix it?

#

usually that error is related to ram or corrupted os

I uninstalled Bitdefender all together. I tried running Sytem Restore in Windows Properties but it kept giving me an error saying it couldn't access the files needed because an antivirus was blocking it. I turned it off but it gave the same error again. I then uninstalled it and opted to not revert my Windows version just to see and it ended up working. I assume last night when I ran the Windows update (Using the Update and Shutdown option) the Antivirus corrupted the files or something

#

Seems likely too since this is technically the first Windows update ive done with this AV installed. There was an update a few weeks ago but I believe I had my AV turned off during that one

bitdefender was probably messing with memory addresses and causing crashing when something was trying to write into ram that was taken by bitdefender

#

just a thought

#

you dont really need a virus scanner anyway since windows has one built in

So I've heard but since Kaspersky got shut down I looked for a replacement. Probably gonna just do without a third party AV for the time

i havent bothered with thirdparty virus scanners for over half a decade now except for my windows 7 htpc which i still ahve for windows media center live tv and recording

Pretty much all 3rd party avs just cause more issues exactly like this to try n trick u into giving them more money to "fix" the issue they created
